I went to see my Grandmother on Thursday. She lives in Virginia and I had to go there for a Dr's appointment. I took her some goodies for her middle of the night snacks. She lives in an assited living home. It was really nice visiting with her.
I bought my Mom a Gift certificate to have a pedicure. She loves to have her feet massage. I usually do this for both of my parents as they are both obese and are unable to take care of their feet.
I am enjoying my day with no one home and plan to cook dinner for Mom ith her favorite dessert Lemon Chiffon pie.
Happy Mother's Day to all mothers wheather it is 2 leeged children or 4 legged children.
Happy Mother's Day also to all single Dad's. After all you play both roles in your childrens lives.

It was such a nice day, little on the windy side and the breeze felt so good.
Spent most of the day putting down munch around the trees and bushes.

I took my youngest daughter to see the azalea gardens in Raleigh--that was nice for her and nice for me too!

Morgan and I colored eggs on Saturday. Morgan hunted for eggs Saturday evening at my Mom's. Sunday I couldn't even get up and go to church. Sunday night I was sick to my stomach. I'm feeling a little better today, still weak in the knees and have low energy.

Saturday we will be coloring six dozen Easter eggs.
I love hiding all the eggs and watching all the kids run around trying to find them.

Think about me when you jump into your pool MJ, the last time I went swimming is when my cousins came to town and stayed at Hamilton Inn and we all went swimming.

After my walk on Sunday, I danced around the back yard for several minutes. It was easy to get my extra 10 minutes in this weekend. The weather was great and my pool needed to be swept a couple of times a day emoticon It's not warm enough to swim yet. I like to start working on the pool in April. I want to be ready when swimming season gets here.

Robin, I can certainly sympathize. It is hard enough being disabled--when family members don't understand chronic pain that is just so deflating. For a long time my children didn't understand that being bone-on-bone is both knees made even standing impossible for me. You just can't do the things you used to do and they would rather do anything than help you out with household chores.

Wish there was an answer, but you do have my sympathy. I hope things will improve for you as you lose weight. Keep relying on Spark friends when you need a boost. You are not alone!

Hugs, Pat

I just thought once a month would be better than not getting it cleaned at all. Maybe I'm still confused about how often you're able to do stuff. That's okay as long as you're not confused. emoticon

I would need someone once a week. We have a house full of cats. Not full but all are Purebread full coated persians. Husband said he would clip them all down. NOT. My house needs to be cleaned much more then once a month. It would be a mess in a matter of days. It would cost a fortune. I am sure he can afford it, but will he pay for it?? Doubt it. Actually I know he wouldn't. A better support system at home? Can I drag someone off the street. Eveyone has their own life. Most of my friends drifted away, or really moved. The ones that drifted couldn't understand why i can't do things. This is dispite the surgeries, and all that stuff. I am not allowed to complain very often at home. I get mimicked. Unreal he is a R.N. isn't it? Ty for the concern. I appreciate it. My son did the dishes lastnight. That was because there weren't that many. But I was thankful. I know my husband is going through a midlife crisis. His weight is well over 300lbs now. He isn't happy. Not my problem any more (o;

Studiotwo - that is a great goal. I walked a mile then three miles, now I can do seven in a day. I haven't gone past seven and try to do between three and five miles per day. It feels so good to be able to walk and walk and have so much more energy than I had before.

Robin - well can you hire help? Maybe have someone come in once a month clean the house and do your laundry. That way you don't have to spend anytime that your feeling better doing house chores that will put you right back in bed. I'm thinking you need a better support system at home to start feeling better. There's just got to be away to get you some help.

Ok, I'm in--it is raining here, but I will do something active. I have been walking this week and I really am beginning to feel stronger and my pain is less intense. I break my walking into several segments throughout the day, but I went from being unable to hardly walk to the mailbox to walking over 2400 steps in one day! I really want to make this a permanent part of my day and build up to being able to walk a mile or more at one time and at least 10,000 steps in a day.

Blessings,
Pat

I try but can't do very much. Just sweeping the floor in the kitchen and trying to put it in the dustpan puts me in bed sometimes for several days. The pain gets so bad that I often have to lie or sit down right then. It doesn't matter if I am on the floor. That is another problem getting up. My legs sometimes go numb, from my spinal cord. i could write a book. My house is disgusting and I am so ashamed. My family has been told by my Pain management doctor what I can do. Not much. I could become totally paralyzed instead of partially. The don't care. I get screamed at by my husband, sometimes that I am a lazy #%@%^ etc. He won't sweep the floors period. I go down the cellar maybe once a month or I have no clean clothes. My tub is so horrible. I am ashamed to have anyone here. I spent most of this week in bed. Why? I just went through a 2 week straight period of getting less then 2 hours a sleep a day. No I am not lying or trying for empathy. I finally crashed yesterday. I need more sleep, but then what for? I am not happy with my life. I never go anywhere,except on occasion to the doctors. Oh whoopie. My husband has turned cruel over the years. I am on very strong medications for the pain. NO they don't always help. I have had several surgeries, that failed. Writing a book again,sorry. I can't stand the filth here. I can't even step on a step stool my balance is off, and I have some spasticity. So my house makes me sick and depressed. My son complains but rarely helps. Why should he, his father never has him do anything.
So that was way more then you asked, sorry. (o; )o;

Okay, let's do some walking, elliptical running, gardening or whatever you can find to do. Do something physical this weekend. Our cold weather from last week is now causing lots of crazy weather inland, so if your stuck inside maybe clean out a closet or something emoticon

Good for you!! I need it too. I am slowly getting back inline. I really messed up. I suddenly got very hungry but I think at least 75% of it is/was emotional eating. Yuck lol frozen pizza. Not my favorite either. Hey make a really appealing lunch for yourself!!! Have a good one.

Wow, Just when I needed it. My kids just invited me over for pizza and basketball watching. Quite honestly, frozen pizza just doesn't cut it for me, but I probably would have eaten it--just to be polite, you know. Now I guess I'll pack my lunch--they are used to that! Thanks!
