Indoor sports are here! We played volleyball for 2 hours last night! & the weather is so much nicer today than it has been in many days. I do believe this qualifies for a run after work. :)

OMG the St Jude Marathon weekend was AWESOME!!!!!!

I ran the half marathon in 2 hours and 43 min. A personal best for me. I felt so strong, like I could have ran and ran. I was not even tired when I finished but my feet, hip, and shoulders told me it was tired. Now this morning everything is telling me it hurts. LOL

I'm so ready to train for the full marathon. Who's with me?

I wanted to get online on Tuesday and tell you all about this, but I never got the chance. (Also why I didn't get to post a Tuesday question.)

I went out during that cold, wet snow we were having and ran my fastest 5k ever!! My previous record was 42:05. This one was 41:14. I think I was trying to get back inside where it was warm as soon as possible. lol Whatever the reason I was able to do it, I was really proud!

Ugh. Today has been a terrible day. Stress and family problems. I have really been missing my runs this week due to staying in with a sick kiddo. Tomorrow morning was supposed to be my long run, but when I checked the weather it looks like it's going to be storming all morning and afternoon. Sooo.... here I go! 10:30 at night, getting ready for 8-9 miles in the streets around Bartlett. I have my night running gear, and a detailed map of my route for hubby to follow.

11 miles yesterday was great. I focused on getting my stride down so that I can maintain a consistent speed throughout the whole event. This week is slightly less mileage again. I really need to focus on strength training now that I'm cutting back on running. Gotta keep those legs strong!

I'm starting to taper back, so I've got 11 miles this Saturday. I'll either be downtown or on the Greenline with a friend.

I ran 3.75 miles yesterday and 3.2 miles today. I need to get some strength training in. I keep forgetting!

Wow Kelli, that's awesome!! I was going to ask if you wanted to go out this Saturday and do another 13 miles, but I see you've done your's for the week. I love the downtown scenery so I'm heading back down there Saturday.

Yesterday I got in 30 min on the treadmill, then this morning I got up and did another 30 min. on the treadmill and then did 30 min. of lower body strength training.

I did another 13 miles this weekend, and it was so much harder than when Sandra and I did it in October. I'm not sure why though.. I ran on the Greenline, which is perfectly flat. Not like when we did that crazy hill on the Harbortown Bridge!! I guess it really does help to have someone to run with!

Since then I've just been trying to recover. Taking a cold bath with ice, doing some low impact aerobics and core strength training. Tomorrow is supposed to be another (shorter) run. We'll see if my legs will cooperate. 4.5 weeks til St. Jude!

run intervals today! preparing for next 5K! They say that improving your 5K speed is easier for beginner runners than it would be for the more experience runners. I hope that's true! We will see!

Tonight is bittersweet b/c our last ladies game of the season will be played tonight. I still have a handful of games left for co-ed, but this is a sign of the colder weather (that I am *not* a fan of!)
