I have been adding dulse in my day and crave salt less

Like you I find it very hard to not use salt. To be honest I have not yet dared to make serious efforts.
I do intend to try to go without any addes salt for 3-4 weeks some time this year to see if it gets easier as I go along.

I will be researching this- as I need to avoid it.
Hypertension runs in my family and I have gotten too close in the past.

I must have been lucky re. salting foods.
A few months after marriage I became pregnant. Since I was gaining too much weight my OB told me to use less salt in cooking. I don't think that it was my regular cooking though but instead processed and packaged foods.
By cutting out these culprits at that time has resulted in my tongue being so sensitive to salty foods that I can't eat many processed foods to this day.

Thank you all for taking the time to respond to my post. I'm grateful for your feedback. I want to especially thank KOKOEK9 for taking the time to put together those spice lists for me. I guess giving up salt is a challenge for all of us who have grown up eating it. Thanks everyone!

I am working on this to.
I use Kirkland brand Organic no salt seasoning
Nutritional yeast helps and I also use dulse whihc seems to help with cravings for me

here are 2 no salt seasoning mixes the bottom one is spicey
NO SALT SEASONING.
American Blend
5 tsp onion powder
1 T garlic powder
1 T paprika
1 T dry mustard powder
1 tsp thyme
1/2 tsp white pepper
1/2 tsp celery seed
Combine all ingredients in a sealable container and shake well. Makes about 1/4 cup.
From the National Kidney Foundation

Spicey Seasoning
3 T celery seed
1 T onion powder
1 tsp. garlic powder
2 T oregano
1 T thyme
1-1/2 tsp.crushed bay leaf
1-1/2 tsp black pepper
1-1/2 tsp. cloves
Mix well and seal. Makes about 1/2 cup. National Kidney Foundation.

yea salt isd a tough one, we eat out most times and that ivery difficult to control. Other sesonings is good but beware many of them have salt in them. I have a reciepe from a kidney group it is a no salt seasoning its not bad I see if I can find it

The salt habit is hard to break. It may help to reduce that amount you are using, but like sugar, the more you use salt, the more you want. I am finding that I'm using almost none. I am, however using and exploring the use of new and different seasonings.

My biggest challenge is not eating salt. I tried to cook without any salt for a couple of months, but I just don't enjoy my food. I can't seem to get over the hump, so I've been adding a bit of salt to my meals (much less than before!). Have you been able to get used to cooking without salt? If so, do you have any tips for me?
