I jogged for 20 minutes on treadmill. Longest I've been able to do without walking intervals in between.

My Wow moment sadly was not over weight loss. I went in and had a makeover. I needed to motivation and I got it. I got a new hair cut, new clothes and contacts and I feel sooo much better. It has given me the motivation to keep moving forward.

As one of the girls from the (er, ahem) plump line of the family, I always hated to be in the family photos. But recently at a big family gathering I didn't give a hoot where I stood - and ended up being smack dab in the front - and I looked just fine. Nobody would ever know I was once the fat girl.

Great, Amanda! I, too, had a clothing moment when I realized a silk blouse/knit pant set in a lovely lavendar shade actually FIT. It made me glad to have the closet bursting with clothes from earlier times. Now I'm trying to apply organizational tips from FlyLady (www.flylady.net) and SparkPeople to work my way slowly through the closet (baby steps) and remove the clothes that are too big. Wish I'd taken a before picture of the mess.

I bought a new pair of slacks for work in the size I thought I needed and didn't try them on. When I was getting ready a few mornings later, I realized they are way too big and I should have went down one more size. emoticon

On Feb 5, I met my weight loss goal! I lost 35 # since the end of June, thanks to the nutrition and fitness tracking. My WOW moment was in realizing I need size 10 jeans when I thought I would be a 12! I'm 5'9'' and am at my goal weight of 145 emoticon

The past few winters I have had days when I when I just think "F it all," and I sit on my couch and eat pizza as my rebellion against the world. Yesterday, I was definitely in one of the those moods, but my big rebellion was not eating vegetables with dinner, and going easier on the elliptical, which I compensated for by going 50% longer. This morning I realized that despite my mood, I still stayed within my calories and worked out! This is MAJOR progress for me, as I think those moods were a big part of my previous failures.

I managed to lose 10 lbs this month, this is the first time I have lost weight probably in the last year, I regained 10-15 last year, so I am 10 down so far. It's amazing what happens when you eat healthy foods, more fruits and veggies then ever. Now once I get back to my regular exercise routine I am hoping to see more results.

I had a wow moment yesterday. I had been stuck at the 17-lb mark for weeks, to the point of reducing the frequency of weigh-ins. Yesterday I had a few minutes before leaving in the morning and decided to weigh in, and I had hit the 22-lb mark! Passed 20 lost pounds without the fanfare I had hoped for, it happened without my even noticing! Go figure.

When in doubt, take a hike.

Yes, the scale finally moved! Lost 4 lbs. in April. I was discouraged because I lost 2 a week in March, but I didn't give up with diet and exercise. My mistake this month was to not take in enough calories for my extra exercise. The past few days I added extra fruit and got back on track with water...the pounds came off. congrats Dawn on your weight lose and Marionva glad to hear about the watch. I can't wait for my rings to fit again.

This is a very small thing but it really caught my attention - I had to move in a notch on my watchband. It was comfortably loose before but in the last week or so that loose became more of a sliding around my wrist. I was so surprised to find I could tighten the band and not be tight!

I didn't realize how sore I'd be after spending 3 hours Saturday and 4 hours Friday (in the freezing cold) repeatedly climbing up & down a ladder. I was using a hammer to smash the ice in my gutters so I could remove it. Holy crow - amazing how many muscles I forgot I had!

I wanted to share with everyone that my family (our children and their wives) hadn't seen me in awhile and really noticed my weight loss (31 lbs. to date - 10 of that with SP). It made me feel good that it's finally noticeable. I have another 30 to lose and it has been slow going, but steady. It's nice to know that I look and feel different now than before.

Thank you SP and all my SP friends for your support.

I went walking with my Daddy for the first time about two weeks ago. He walks around the near by track for an hour.. By 30 mins I was SO tired, I could barly breath when we were done. Then me and my boyfriend started walking ever day for 30 mins. And today I went with my daddy for the 4th time, and I wasn't even tired when we fisihed, I feel WONDERFUL right now. It's great to be able to walk that long (about 3 miles).

I had another "Wow" moment last week. I had a goal for last year to "beat" this very long and high hill on a local road that I could not get up without stopping at least three times and I usually had to walk the last little bit.
I never got to do it last last year due to bridge work that kept the road closed most of the summer. I went for a bike ride last Thursday and decided at the last moment to take that road. I started up that hill in 4th gear and kept on going. I shifted to 3rd at the very last, but I made it to the top with energy to spare!!! I almost got off the bike and did a "Happy Dance". emoticon
I can't believe the difference in myself. I owe a lot of the credit to SparkPeople for keeping me motivated to lose the weight and get healthy once and for all. emoticon
Now if I can just beat that hill going up to my house.

emoticon Cena!

I rode my bike 60 miles Saturday and wasn't at all tired at the finish (my rear end didn't even hurt). I hope to one day be able to do a century ride.

I am walking again - still have to wear the knee brace, but I'm up and walking. Every day I do a little bit more so I can work up to where I was before I got hurt.

I am riding my bike consistently at 12.3 MPH! I never thought I would get past 10 MPH. I have been trying really hard at for the last year with no success. Then I started back riding this spring when the weather broke (minus the 37 lbs. I have lost) and was so shocked at how easy it was to ride in higher gears even uphill.

I just posted a WOW! moment in the general discussion, it probably should have gone here...but the short of it - people (who don't know what I am trying to do) have noticed the changes in me and are brave enough to ask about it! Cool beans!

Well, I not only finished the Monument Avenue 10k, but I walked it in well under two hours! It was so much fun, I think I've gotten the bug!

Wow, it's kinda funny to see a post I made a month ago that talks about the same thing I'm about to say. I can now fit into those same skinny jeans with the zipper all the way up and buttoned! Goal 1 is accomplished now on to goal 2!

I haven't had many moments yet but the first one happened a couple of weeks ago. I could fit into clothes that used to be just a bit too snug. I couldn't believe that they fit and looked good too! I also have a pair of skinny jeans that I stopped wearing years ago because I couldn't get them on past my thighs. Now go on all the way! They don't button yet but at least I can breathe in them...when I'm standing.

I fit into the last pair of my "skinny" jeans today. They had been lurking in my closet for the last 3 years just waiting for me to get down to them. Now that fit I will have to go on a shopping trip to buy more.

I got my hair cut today and went to see my Mom while she was at work. I walked in and waved to her and she said "Hi, how are you doing?" and turned away and started doing something else. Then she turned back around and screamed "I didn't recognize you". The reason for this being, we have a large family in our house, my mom sees me every day, usually in a tank top and mesh shorts or something. (i'm a stay at home mom, and I dress comfy cause I work out during the day) Today I was dressed up cause I was running errands and she said the difference was that noticeable. So happy! =)

My WOW moment was when I climbed to the second floor at church and wasn't out of breath when I got there! I also have had a preliminary WOW moment today - I was brave enough to sign up to walk in the Ukrops Monument Avenue 10k. When I complete it - that will be an awesome WOW! emoticon

My wow moment was a few weeks ago when hubby and I went to Meadowlark Botanical Gardens to walk around. There's a gazebo there that sits on top of a hill that can be quite a hike. In the past, I've huffed and puffed my way up there. That day hubby noticed that my stamina is alot better, I didn't huff and puff and I didn't want to sit down for a rest. I didn't even notice til he pointed it out. I was just full steam ahead!

I had a Wow moment when I went skiing last month for the first time in three years. I expected to have a few aches and pains the next day from muscles that had not been used in my daily activities. However, I felt great, and not a sore muscle anywhere. I'm sure this was due to all the strength exercises I had been doing, as part of my goals in the process of weight loss. But I hadn't realized what a difference that would make in just a few short weeks! So, WOW!

Wow moments are just a part of the progress of weight loss. I have had many since my whole journey began, but I think the one that was the most humerous to me was the day I got in my car and I could have sworn someone had moved my steering wheel.

This would be a real stretch because I am the only one who drives my vehicle. It just seemed really odd that I was suddenly seemed to be sitting so far away from the steering wheel.

Share your wow moments?
