Yes, and after a while we start to look like them too, or at least your house does. My friend and her husband have a couple of Dalmations, and people give them gifts with black and white spots all the time, even shower curtains.

our scottie is a typical scots male. a bit dour and reserved with strangers but once you are a friend it's for life. he is so stubborn and likes to howl sometimes - in fact just like iain. our jack russell is much more like me, cuddly, loving and adorable!

My Cockapoo, Muffin, and I both love to eat. He has eaten everything I have given him in 3 1/2 years except black olives and pretzel sticks.

We have five cats; my husband swears our newest one reminds him of me both in personality and appearance. I can kinda relate to that; we're both petite, talk a lot, demand to be petted (foot rubs!), zip around and covered in cat hair (well I invest in lint rollers, but you know how it goes...)

Yes I do believe my dog Emmit do a lot together and he will listen to me better than my husband and do the things I tell him. At times I bark back at my husband the same as my dog or I dig out somethings in the garden and leave a mess, even though I have to clean it latter. My dog Emmit helps me in fining his poop in the yard. He does help. LOL

When I think about it, I guess our youngest (of 3) cats might be like me. She likes people, but not other cats. She does not like to have her routine disturbed. She is usually a real sweetie, but sometimes for no apparent reason she turns into hellcat.

I personally believe that our little Miss Coco has a personaility that matches both Hubby and me. She is very social......never met a strange (takes this after Hubby)....she can also just be at times (takes this after me). when I want me time I just drop out and relax. When she sees me doing this she gets close to me and does the same. When I rejoin time, she does to and gets all excited to be with me, wants to be patted, wants to run and play

Keep on track

When I was little I loved the Thriller video, but one zombie in particular scared me. The one that came out of the manhole. For that reason I would never walk over manholes or storm drains for fear that a zombie would drag me down it. Now I just avoid them out of habit. After I got Penny my mother and I noticed when we took her for walks on roads that had storm drains and manholes she was very hesitant to even walk past them. I'm guessing it's for a different reason since i'm pretty sure she's never seen the Thriller video. That and I have a fear of deep water because I almost drown three times when I was young. At one point we took Penny to the park in Paw Paw. She was fine walking along the shore and even on the bridge, but then my mom wanted to go under the bridge on a small strip of concrete next to the deep water. Penny went to the edge of the concrete and looked down at the water and then quickly stepped away. After that Penny wouldn't budge. I told her I didn't blame her and that we would wait for grandma to come back. emoticon

I must have multiple personalities since I have 11 dogs right now and if we are counting all pets, I'm really in trouble.

I think that is very true. Why else would it be so hard to find just the right fit when you are adding a pet to your life?
I want another dog, but I am very particular about which dog we get. It has to fit into my family, get along great with my other pets and add to our lives, not throw off the balance.
I know we will eventually find one that fits us, and hopefully we will fit him!

I have heard that pets and their owners might "look alike", but the idea of personalities is interesting. We have 2 dogs, the greyt is laid back and very accepting and the doxie is outgoing and yappy. Our 2 cats (brothers) are also very different in personality -- one is outgoing and quite naughty, the other shy and a "lap cat." My husband and I share some of the qualities of each -- hopefully I am not too yappy.

That's interesting! We have two shih tzus--little girl is quiet and not wildly active, while little boy is the opposite. Both are very loving. Guess that is how we are like them.

I hope that is true as my little dog Baby who has now crossed over the Rainbow Bridge was the sweetest and most loving dog.He was crazy over children espically babies. We would have to make babies around him stop as he would let them pull his tail, twist his ears anything and he would lick them in the face as he did it.I have always loved children. The only thing I knew of that he did wrong was chase cats if he got the chance and oh yes he would try to fight dogs larger than he but I think he was intimidated by them. All the visitors would remark what a nice dog he was. emoticon

Great question. I think that there are some common personalities between pets and their owners. My oldest cat has some of the same personalities as I do. We're both quiet, peacemakers but push the right button and we will let others no it.Also, sometimes we both get a wild streak that is out of the norm for either of us.

Hello I thought I would start a thread on the subject of pet's and their personalities and how that related to the pet owner.
I used to have a pet dog called Alex, she was a wonderful dog for me a poodle, bitzer cross with a good social acceptance of people and other dogs and she loved to play ball.

Ive also heard it said that people resemble their dogs. And as I have an axolotl instead of the dog that I cant have in an upstairs rental one bedroom apartment. wonder how that would be interpreted for an axolotl.
