I have my bird feeder, the hummingbird feeder and have but out a bird bath as I noticed they really like to have a place to drive and flop in. I usually, put fresh waster in each evening just before dark so it will be cool in the morning hours

I really love pigeons (you can tell from my Spark Name)! I've cared for a few wounded pigeons and baby pigeons who have fallen out of their nests. It's always a bit sad to see them fly away, because they've got such sweet, funny personalities.

Right now our backyard feeders are full of chickadees daily and the hummingbird feeder gets a visit at least once a day!

We have flickers and downy woodpeckers here in Colorado Springs. The flickers are notorious for drumming on the metal caps of chimneys and making lots of noise.

We also get nuthatches. They drill on the trees and flit over to the birdfeeder sometimes.

Have any of you ever caught a pet bird outside? I've caught 3 cockatiels and a parakeet over the years. Those were other people's pets that I lured down from trees. When I had canaries, a big cage of babies got bumped on a door frame on the way out to get some sun, and they scattered all over the place. Luckily, I was able to get all of them back in. My sun conure swooped out the door on a windy night and I thought he was a goner. We found him a block away the next morning and lured him down from a small tree by offering him water from a water bottle (one of his favorite things). Kiwi, our last parrotlet, scooted out the door right before nightfall and survived snow and cold. She was on a little tree the next morning. When we took her to the vet, she couldn't believe that Kiwi had survived.

We have so many birds in our area. We love sitting outside and watching. The small ones, bluejays, mockingbird are agressive. We have three types of owls and they are always going from tree to tree howing, the retail hawks and the other odds and end of the bird community. We do not feed as we have a feel cat colony on our property

In my area there are sparrows, robins, blue jays and the like. We also have bald eagles and hawks here as well, many hawks. I miss having my parakeets.

I only have two indoor pets, a sun conure and a parrotlet, but I've really gotten into watching the birds that come to our yard. Just in the past two weeks, I've seen an eagle fly over--a first to me--and a beautiful new blue bird at the feeder who turned out to be a gnat catcher. We used to have chickens, but after the Great Raccoon Massacre we just called it quits. I can only take so much loss and we've had raccoons, skunks, hawks, and foxes that caused problems.

I'd love to hear about birds, inside or outside!
