I ordered my bottles & bag yesterday. I know I already started, but this won't be my last cleanse. I wanted to get new bottles, because my hubby has been using my Camelbak bottles--they have a straw and make it really easy to tote along everywhere. I threw out the ones that weren't BPA free, so we're down to only three, and that makes it hard for me to take two bottles of lemonade and a bottle of tea to work, and still have a bottle left over for DH. LOL, and excuse to get the bottles and the bag--is what he said. :-)

Not sure which date I'm going to begin the cleanse (again). With a few activities on the calendar, I have two dates in mind: either I start the day after Christmas, December 26 to January 7; or start January 10 through the 22 (ending on hubby's birthday).

~ What is your reason for doing this cleanse?
** my reason for cleansing is to gain control over my eating. With the discipline of the cleanse, I know I'll have a better handle of things. This will allow me to focus more and be deliberate with the choices I make. Another reason is that since the June accident and my wedding in July, I've gained nearly 30 lbs. A bit depressing, but I'm pushing forward.

~ What is the duration of your fast?
**In January (2010), I completed 10 days. So my goal again is 10 days, and take things one day at a time.

~ How much weight loss is realistic for you?
**I know that I will drop some weight, but my soul purpose is for the discipline.

~ What modifications are you going to make in your life to ensure success? Less of or no TV, more reading of the bible, prayer, also catch up on some books I've been wanting to read and/or finish reading. My brother's birthday is in February; I've started an afghan for him in the colors of his favorite football team, the Pittsburgh Steelers.

~ How am I going to get through “detox”? My husband is my support and will hold be accountable during this time. Plenty of water and rest. Prayer and reading. Take it one day at a time.

You can do it, remind yourself if a craving hits, that you can have it AFTER 10 days, keep a journal
it is very interesting to see what your mind comes up with..

have fun with the journey!

~ What is your reason for doing this cleanse?
** my reason for cleansing is to gain control over my eating. With the discipline of the MC, I think I'll have a better handle of things. This will allow me to focus more and be deliberate with the choices I make. Another reason is that I've been breaking out in hives since last summer. Some say stress related, the doc can't figure it out other than it being hormonal. Prayerfully, this will go away with the cleanse.

~ What is the duration of your fast?
**Praying for 10 days, although I'd like to make it to 21 days. Just going to take it one day at a time.

~ How much weight loss is realistic for you? This is important. Do NOT set the goal so high that you cannot achieve it.
**I would love to drop 10 lbs during the cleanse.

~ What modifications are you going to make in your life to ensure success? Less of or no TV, more reading of the bible, prayer, also catch up on some books I've been wanting to read and/or finish reading. One in particular is The Spark (hopefully that will arrive today). Some light exercise. My schedule looks like there's nothing in the way that could possibly cause me to go off track. Will take an extra 5 minutes in the morning to prepare the day of the MC.

~ How am I going to get through “detox”? Prayer, rest, talking to my fiancé, although not doing it with me, he will encourage and keep me accountable. He's tough like that. Plenty of water and rest. Reading. Take it one day at a time.

SETTING GOALS ENSURES SUCCESS

While you are in the planning stages, and have not yet begun the fast – while your head is clear – set some realistic goals for yourself. Be mindful of your lifestyle, and things that stress you out. For the duration of the fast, eliminate as many “stressors” as you can.

What motivates YOU?
Add motivators into your schedule. For instance, I am inspired by books. I have several books on fasting that I read while I am doing the cleanse, including “The Master Cleanser” by Stanley Burroughs. Listen to tapes or CDs geared to motivation. If you are motivated by people, enlist a “buddy” to do the fast with you, and check in with each other every day.

What distracts YOU? Eliminate distractions. Like, T.V. commercials. For the whole fast, think about not watching the T.V. Those food commercials may sabotage you if you are sensitive to that sort of thing. Reschedule lunch and dinner engagements until after your fast is finished.

Help Setting Goals
~ What is your reason for doing this fast? (Weight loss, spiritual, health, all of the above)

~ What is the duration of your fast? (10 days; 21 days; 40 days)

~ How much weightloss is realistic for you? This is important. Do NOT set the goal so high that you cannot achieve it. Go to the link for the article about weight gain and loss during fasting. (links section of our yahoo groups site)

~ What modifications are you going to make in your life to ensure success? (No TV; enlist friend as a fasting “buddy”; do what the book says, no matter what; stock up on lemons – 3 to 6 per DAY, Grade B or C maple syrup and herbal mint tea, organic sea salt; squeeze enough lemons for a few days into a jar and keep it in the fridge; water filter or bottled water; extra large cup with lid for mobility; buy some books that motivate me; make meals ahead for the family and freeze them)

~ How am I going to get through “detox”? (more time to sleep for the first 4-5 days of the cleanse; drink extra water; read the Master Cleanser book)
