Greeat article! I'm planning on trying to use more organics. Report
Great article.
On another note...
I've grown some vegetables for over 40 years in my backyard garden. I rotate the crops, and have never used store bought fertilizers on it. The taste of home grown produce is better than the organic produce sold in markets - because you pick it so very close to the time you eat it! Too bad the winters in Canada stop me from growing year round. I love when spring comes and the soil can be worked once again. Report

Take blue berries the organic and the non organic or farmed on same Farm many times by the same bush just boxed in different boxes. But they did the paperwork for organic so they can box half thier crop for more money. We are dumb enough to fall for it. Farms have to make a living so more power to them for just changing a box to get make more money. Report
Good info although some of the comments make me think twice about the research done. Report

Having lived and worked in the agriculture industry my entire 60 plus years as well as having taken a 400 level college class in organic farming there are 2 pontis I would like to make about the "organic" label. First the "organic" label does not mean pesticide free. Organic pesticides are frequently used. Some of them actually have a higher toxicity rating than nonorganic pesticides. Many are used more frequently and at higher rates than nonorganic pesticides. Secondly, the biggest difference between organic and nonorganic farming is the amount of time spent filling out paper work to maintain the farms organic rating. Report
