Hello, my name is Amber. :)

I try and concentrate on my strengths, my blessings, and all the good things in my life. It's worth it!

I was diagnosed with gluten intolerance on 10/08/10 (my fourth wedding anniversary!) which totally changed the way I eat and look at food. I'm feeling better and finding out the random other foods that just don't sit well with me. It's frustrating. Food allergies are readily accepted, but food intolerances are pushed to the side. Because so many people claim an "intolerance" when they are really just following a diet trend.

If I could eat gluten, I would! Gluten-free products try their best, but nothing beats the real thing. I'm still working on discovering the various things that trigger digestive pain for me.

Whatever your journey, whatever your path, I wish you success. Losing weight/getting healthy isn't easy, but it's worth it.

My Goals:
My goal is simply to be healthier. Losing the weight is a big motivator to treat my body better.

My Program:
My husband, Aubrey, and I like taking walks together.

We were going to quit the gym for the summer, but I was missing it terribly. There are just too many excuses for me without it. "It's too hot to work out" "I'm tired" etc. But once I'm at the gym; I'm there. All excuses must fade away because I'm paying for it darn it! I have to get my money's worth! Luckily another gym was running a deal so now we're back at the gym and it's not costing as much as before.

    Hey Amber, I just got your message on my spark page. LOL. I don't know if you know about Autoimmune Protocol diet...I have a couple books myself. There is a Pharmacist Isabella Wentz and she had Hashimotos. She talked about low dose naltrexone (in higher doses drug users use it to get off of drugs) but in lower doses it helps with inflammation. It has really helped me with sleeping at night...lower back pain ect. My inflammatory markers have also gone down.
    Keep me posted on how your doing. We are Hashimotos sisters. LOL. emoticon

    You are an inspiration. Thanks for sharing your story. I really appreciated one of your quotes in the Article about weight loss not solving all of your problems, you were quoted: "I'm working on focusing on what my body can do, not just on what it looks like." Thank you for sharing that.
