Luk, Logan, Brody, and Benjamin are my motivation! We are a busy family and clean eating has been a huge battle for us, but we are back at it. I am ready, as Cornelius Robinson would say, "Keep Moving Forward!"
I can do this, We can do this!

** April 2018**
We have added a FOURTH SON! God has been so faithful to our family. After his birth, we decided that having our own children would come to an end due to pregnancy having a harsh toll on my body. If we do have the joy of adding to our circus it will be through the beauty of adoption. For now, we are growing and loving life together.

**May 2015**
I come back a mom to three boys and experiencing my second miscarriage three months ago. Each pregnancy has been very different, but I have reached the goals of no pain meds during labor with my last two boys. I have started running and high impact cardio training. If you want an example of a busy mom that is still planning to expand my family. I am the girl to watch.

**Jan 2011**
Mommy is ready to get on the band wagon. The hiatus took longer than I thought, but I didn't think my second children would ultimately be a constant attachment. So, I'm back. Check out my blog for my thoughts.

**NOV 2009 UPDATE**

It has been a busy 9 months, as my family has been preparing for the new arrival in our household. I had a healthy pregnancy with no call for alarm, no inducing, and no real pregnancy issues. I gained more weight than I wanted, but all-in-all I am proud of the way things happened. I am back to 198lbs after having Logan, but am ready to start my journey again. The great thing is that even being up in the lbs, my 14-16 pants fit me. So, to get back to where I was is getting back to a 10-12. It sure beats the 20-22 that I was originally at before my SP journey.

I am 2 weeks postpartum. I am ready for my DR to okay exercise and running. I need my stress reliever back. I can't wait to get back to my SP life!!!

**Here's the Update**

I became a SP Motivator on June 6, 2008! Thank you to everyone who nominated me you are greatly loved and thought of frequently!

Luk is still my motivation; there is a reason that my treadmill faces a picture of him looking as cute as ever. I have been in SP for 1 year and have lost 49lbs, it is a proud moment for me because I do not think I have ever lost this much weight in one time. My brother and husband are still along for the ride, which is nice to have others who care. My life has improved for the better because of the choices I have made. I have not had a Pepsi since I started, I am training for my first 5K (C25K DONE), and I think that I can say bye bye to my sports induced asthma.

It would be easy to say that I was a fat person that needed to lose weight, but I was more than that. I am an obese woman, who could have driven herself to high BP, I had high cholesterol, and suffered and fighting to overcome with depression.
I did it before it got to the point of true destruction, there is no doubt that changing your lifestyle works, my past Cholesterol levels was 230 and now I am healthy 148!
I am no longer on depression medication, however I do have days that the darkness tries to come back into my mind, but I am stronger and able to fight it.
I needed SP in my life! If I didn't I would have continued eating myself into depression, and I would brought myself into being morbidly obese. I am still considered obese for my 5'2 height, but my body fat % is in a healthy range! I love my self and body, and that my SP friends is what this journey is about!

For those of you that are just starting, I will crave that Pepsi, I still want to eat those huge portions, but guess what??? I don't like the way I feel afterward, and that is what this is about, doing the things that make you better in body and spirit! ***The key to success is wanting it so bad you can't live without being this way!!! Life comes and goes, there will be bad days with donuts, but just get out and make it better! You are worth the effort.***

I have become a runner, who loves to exercise, and eat veggies! Read some of my past blogs, and you will see that this was not always, LOL.

Revelations about my body that I have found through SP (not for everyone):
1. I have to eat breakfast in the morning, or I will gain weight, even if I stay in calorie range.
2. Three meals work better than 6 smaller meals. I can see were this methods helps many people, but since I am a person that struggles with portion control this method is not so good.
3. I try to stop eating at 7:30p, no later than 8:00p this has helped me tremendously with my weight loss.
4. Running does help me with my stress level, achy joints, and self esteem. It has also helped me defeat my asthma problems when working out.
5. Warm-up, Cool-down, and STRETCH after every run!!! I can touch my toes with ease, LOL!

Someone asked me how to stop eating after 8:00pm. Of course, just don't eat, but let's be honest, you are hungry, LOL. So, I figured others could use the information, here's what I got...

Death, starvation, etc. =). Yes, I felt that when I started! Depending on the severity of the hunger pain, I would drink a glass of water or hot loose leaf tea. In one of the articles on SP, it talks about how you are not really hungry just trying to fill a void (so, drink a tea or water). I did just that and it worked pretty well. No, it did not work every night, but it would curb my appetite enough to get by before I went to bed. On the nights were I just needed something, I would have a 100 calorie snack like the small bag of popcorn, or the lil' bag of cookies.
However, I did learn to tweak my daily routine. I learned what foods filled me up and what food were just a waste of calories. For me, eating a bagel is a waste. It would leave me satisfied for my post workout snack. So, I have not had a bagel in over 5 months, and I am ok with that. The other thing I learned was to embrace breakfast.
In the beginning, I didn't eat breakfast, I started SP and I forced myself to eat breakfast. I had to start my metabolism up. So, my breakfast is usually pretty hearty with light to moderate lunch and dinner. It all depends on my mood. I could go on, but I hope this helps. It does get easier, but it is hard to see that when are used to eating so late. =)

New Goals for the New Year:
1. I will do training to get to a healthy Body Fat
2. I will do strength training every other day that I do
not do a run.
3. I will reach my goal weight (152) in June.

I changed my goal weight to 152 because after looking at my body frame and body fat percentage to date, this seems like a good range for me. I am 5'2, but not every short girl should be 120lbs. Everyday I love myself more, and I have not done that in a long time. My son is so great and the time I have with him now is wonderful, baby 2 will have to wait because I am finally appreciating me. Soon... just not as soon as I thought!
