So this isn't my first time doing this diet and exercise thing. I did really well back in 2008/09 when I had to lose some pounds so that I could be promoted. Well since then, I have not really kept up with my plan so well. I haven't gained a lot of weight, but I am back up to my pre weight before losing weight in 08/09.
Once again, I am required to lose weight for something. I have orders to a new duty station and I have to be within standards before and during my tour there or I could have my orders cancelled. I weighed in today and I was 238.6. I only have to be 226 or 22% bodyfat for the Navy, but my goal
is to be 205 and have at least a 36" waist. I am not trying to reach 205 before I leave to go to my duty station, but I am setting a goal of December 31st, 2011.
I am also going to set myself some fitness goals for 2011. My last PRT I ran about a 12:00 mile and a half. An 8 minute mile isn't bad, but I would like to do better...a lot better. I would like to get my 1.5 mile down to at least 10 minutes. I am going to test my ability by giving myself a monthly PRT and I will adjust my workout depending on the results.
Push-ups and curl-ups are something that I have never did too well. I am going to set myself some goals for push-ups and curl-ups as well. I will test them monthly along with my run. My goal is to be able to achieve an excellent high on both categories in the fall PRT. Until I can think of more, that is all for now.
