Beautiful day outside today; got some steps in at the playground! It's raining pine pollen here today.

I've been wanting to get under 200 lbs. After Christmas 2009, I weighed more than I've weighed in a LONG time. I am 6 feet tall, so my extra pounds have plenty of places to hide, but it's time for them to GO. I fell off the wagon, so to speak, in 2011 & 2012, and I also struggled with foot pain. In 2013 I had a renewed desire to bring my weight down and live healthier; I took a swim class and increased my physical activity. Also in 2013, my husband and I adopted our infant son, and life got busy as we adjusted to life as parents and also took care of my husband's elderly parents. 2014-17 brought joy and sadness as our son grew & thrived, but hubby's parents' physical and mental health declined; Dad passed away in October 2014 at age 94, then Mom passed in March 2017 at age 84. Now, it’s 2020. I am 42 years old, striving anew to improve my health so I can be active with my busy 6-year-old. In addition to parenting, I also teach piano lessons and play the piano for church, school, and community events. I have helped coach my son’s soccer team, and my preferred exercises are water aerobics, lap swimming, and yoga class at the YMCA. I'm still looking to reach the goal of under-200-ness.

My Goals:
Weigh less than 200 lbs.

Exercise a little every day.

Drink an appropriate amount of water.

My Program:
Track nutrition/eating, at least some of the time. Be aware of my fat & protein intake by reading food labels.

Drink WATER and cut back on sweet tea and coca cola.

Be sure to exercise somehow EVERY day by walking, going to pilates class, or using my Wii.

Personal Information:
I am 6 feet tall, not petite AT ALL, so getting under 200 will be difficult for me, but it should be a healthy weight once I get there.

I am originally from Gainesville, FL and graduated from Univ of Florida. GO GATORS!!

I am an independent piano teacher and a musician, so I do a lot of sitting when I work. I must be purposeful in my exercise.

Thanks for the friend add! I know what you mean about all the sitting when being at the piano. My summers aren't as bad, just church on Sundays and practice Wednesday nights. The school year is a completely different story when I am accompanying for the school. A lot of sitting.

    Keep up the great work!
