Pictures have been a big motivator. Somehow the mirror lies and I convinced myself that I was not as bad as I thought I was. But I hate looking at pictures right now and realize how few I end up taking with myself in them.

I have made small lasting changes starting with a challenge to not drink soda for 2 months last year. It was a challenge but i now only drink on occasion (they do taste good some days but I don't go over board). This summer I joined 24 hour fitness, started going 5-6 days per week (cardio and strength) and worked some with a trainer. I have made small changes in my diet which let to more and more changes and increased my motivation. I started in June at 195 lbs and am now down to 180 lbs with plenty more to lose.

My friend Sarah and I have decided to really find ways of motivating each other instead of staying depressed about things and found this site as a tool. I'm looking forward to seeing the results I can acheive this year. I want to be excited to see pictures of myself again. I can't wait to put up skinny pictures of myself up here!

Fitness Minutes: 6,236

My Goals:
1st month: Learn to track calorie intake consitently.
2nd month: Stay within recommended calorie intake.

In 6 weeks take measurements again (lose 6 lbs) at ski trip with Moman.

For 1st 10 lbs lost: mani/pedicure with Moman (reached--waiting for Sarah:)

If reach 170 lbs by April 15th: go dress shopping with Moman--also reached...will wait to april to see if i can get down to size 10 dress:)

After first 12 week if 12 lbs lost will go shoe shopping. Will get new bathing suit in June if met goals by then!



My Program:
Right now I'm going to the gym 5-6 days per week for cardio and 3 days per week with strength training.

Working on more small changes to my eating that will be lifestyle changes not diets. Tracking my calorie intake is one of my biggest goals (and past hurdle for getting my eating on the right track). As of 2/08 I have been tracking food for about a month now and it's made a world of difference. It's something to be accountable to and I can easily identify the problems and holes in my diet.

Other Information:
I love movies, books, sharks, my kitten (Thornton) and hockey:) I'm obsessed with hockey and hopefully can start learning as I become more fit and healthy!
