Hi all! My name is Neanie, and I'm a gal who had it all together (fitness wise), and then lost it all. Here's my brief story:

At my heaviest, I was 230. I worked for 3 years to achieve my dream weight range (in the 150s)--and I actually did it! I had my high school body, I looked great, felt even GREATER, and then....

Life intervened and my fitness routine was TOTALLY disrupted. Between working longer, highly irregular hours, increased personal obligations, and a boatload of stress, I slowly began to pack on the fat. In a little over a year and a half, I gained 35 pounds!

Fatigue was hitting me all day long. I was on the 'whatever' diet--whatever I wanted to eat, I did. Heck, I was too tired to care. Exercise went out the window. I was drowning in stress and in need of a vacation.

I finally went on vacay and had a private tour of the beautiful city of Montreal, Quebec. I made a remark to my tour guide about how AWESOME it would be for me to live there, and she replied, "Yeah, lots of baby boomers come here to live. You'd fit in."

Oh my goodness! I, the former fitness queen and a PROUD member of Generation X had been mistaken for a baby boomer! I wasn't upset about her comment at all. As a matter of fact, I laughed. I knew she meant no harm by it. After all, I DID look older than my years.

Spark family, I got the message loud and clear. The time had come for me to start my fitness journey again--this time NO MATTER WHAT, this time FOR LIFE--no excuses!

So here I am, at Spark People for the second time around. I am a very happy go lucky, positive, social person who appreciates positive thoughts and support. Feel free to connect with me! I'd love to hear from you! :)

Dear members of the Sparkworld,

Know that I really do appreciate all contact that you give. However, off SP, I am a very busy professional with a limited amount of time. My main focus with being a SP member is my fitness. I do my best to periodically reach out to Sparkfriends and well wishers. For the sake of time and due to my personal life schedule, I am unable to respond to each person individually. If I did, I'd be on here all day lol! :)

Keeping in good spirits and in good health on a consistent basis.

Maximizing my time to make my dreams and goals a reality.

Being a good parent, daughter, sister, and leader.

Increasing my fluency in French.

Visiting the French Caribbean in summer 2015 with a bikini body and then going BACK to Montreal in summer 2016 DEFINITELY at my goal weight.

My Program:
Tracking my food.

Exercising regularly.

Getting enough sleep.

HI, Thank you for commenting on my blog. I love walking outside. In the winter I have to get on my treadmill. I want to get to my goal weight and stay there. It is harder for me now that I am older, BUT I am not going to give up this time, like I have so MANY TIMES BEFORE. I hope you had a great day and thank you again for taking the time to leave me a nice comment. I appreciate it.

To answer your question about the plank challenge, I was surprised how hard the first day felt -- it's only 20 seconds. But then day two felt a little easier -- might have just been in my mind, but still. Today (Day 4) was 30 seconds, and again, not easy but do-able. I'm also using the fancy, pretty app that has a timer built in and keeps track of your days. That just makes it more fun for me, so it's worth the $3. (And I want to do additional challenges after this one, so I'll keep using it.)

Let me know how it goes for you!

    :) Courtney
