I started using spark in 2011 even though I signed up in 2010. I began at 197 lbs. I also faced a meniscus tear in a knee that was repaired successfully. This SCARED me into putting my health first. I was terrified of immobility.
I reached 140 lb. goal by my weigh in on January 31st/
LATEST UPDATE: I reached my goal weight of 135 lbs. by my 60th milestone. (August 21, 2016.)

Since then I am in maintenance mode.(55 pounds kept off, still working on getting the last 10 which was a gain this year gone.) Keeping my MOVEMENT consistent, challenging myself to reach FURTHER outside of my comfort zone, & be aware of the food choices & portions I eat are a combined part of my healthy living EVERY day...Living, laughing & LOVING LIFE is the BEST benefit this journey has given me. Reach for your DREAMS...they are attainable!!!!

    Thanks for the jump rope. I don't tend to jump since it would stress my knees too much but maybe it will "jump-start" my next weight loss.

    Thanks for the rope Goodie! I made it through the long weekend with best friends visiting and then a huge Thanksgiving feast at my sister's last evening without gaining any weight! Think that is an achievement in itself. Thanks again, Mai

    thank you for the information. After I asked you, I did do some research and really liked what I read. Especially the very satisfied owners. But I didn't know how to get one without paying duty, shipping, etc. Well, this past weekend I was on looking for a new ebook for my Kindle and they had an ad for the fitbit. It will be available through Oct. 25th. So I pre-ordered it and expect to get mine before the end of the month!

    I have used other things like Nike +, regular pedometers and I have a Garmin watch with heart rate monitor. Some things I find not very reliable and the Garmin doesn't seem to hold a charge very long and is really only good for outdoors since it used GPS tech.

    I was considering a Body Media, but then I saw the fitbit and it looked much better. the only thing it doesn't track, that I wanted was heart rate. But for $95, it seems to be pretty good and the fact that you don't need to pay a monthly fee for online tracking is a bonus.

    So thanks again. We do have some amazing places in and around the city. I especially like the waterfront trails.
