I am always trying to eat well and exercise effectively to keep my diabetes under tight control. Right now I'm trying to lose about 20 pounds to keep my lab numbers in a healthy range. (An Anniversary trip is great motivation, too). I'm a freelance writer and editor, wife, and mom of two terrific daughters. I live in Ohio--and it's home--but am originally from Wisconsin and will always be a Badger at heart. I enjoy walking, hiking, soccer, traveling, cooking ... living life to the fullest!

Fitness Minutes: 57,031

My Goals:
My goals are to keep my lab work numbers in a healthy range. I have tight control of my diabetes and want to keep it that way. Additionally, I'd like to drop ten pounds so I can get back into some of my cute clothes.

My Program:
I try to faithfully track what I eat, because this is my biggest challenge; I don't like junk food that much, I just love to eat. I already walk daily, so I try to add different types of cardio to my fitness routine. I would really like a gym buddy but have had a hard time finding someone. Anyone interested?!

Personal Information:
I'm a freelance writer and editor, wife, and mom of two terrific daughters. We love to travel, swim, hike, and have fun together. I have diabetes and live with the challenge daily but try not to let it define me. I am much more than my disease!

Last summer I suffered a broken toe and nerve damage and it set me back. I didn't gain too much, but lost time. I'm back now, ready to go!

I really enjoy cooking and baking, and finding delicious, healthy recipes is a challenge I generally enjoy.

Other Information:
Having diabetes can be a real drag, but SparkPeople has helped me stay focused and maintain a more positive attitude.
