I'm facing the fact that I have to adjust to my body instead of making my body adjust to my dictatorship. If I jump into weight loss without a plan I use the rest of my life, I only find myself starting over and over and over..... This time I am taking things slower, and I'm not letting frustration get the best of me when my schedule is interrupted for a day or even a week at a time. Instead, I'm trying to learn from the experience and see what does or doesn't work. So far I'm seeing more success and less frustration.

I have been playing with weight loss since I joined Spark People in the summer of 2007. During this time, I have had periods of success and periods of failure. I have found that too often I let other activities steer me away from the healthy patterns that I need to be successful at getting the weight off and keeping it off.

With the support of my family and Spark Friends, I can do this!!!!

My Goals:
May, 2015 goals:

1. Strive for at least 13,000 steps each day.
2. Lose at least 5 lbs. during the month.
3. Biking or swimming 2 or 3 times per week.
4. Strength training 3 times per week.
4. Stay within calorie range (1270 - 1620) by tracking my food each day.

WEIGHT LOSS started December 25, 2015

1. 10 lbs. lost - met March 1, 2015
2. 20 lbs. lost - met Aptil 17, 2015
3. 30 lbs. lost - met June 26, 2015
4. 40 lbs. lost bpy September 1, 2015
5. 50 lbs. by November 1, 2015
6. 60 lbs. by January 1, 2016
FINAL GOAL: 75 lbs.

My Program:
I'm eating healthier, doing 4-6 small meals each day and drinking lots of water. I eat of fruits and veggies and minimal sodium. I drink at least 10 glasses of water--my goal is to get at least 12 to 15 glasses of water each day.

My exercise plan: To maintain an average of at least 13,000 to 15,000 steps daily and some biking or swimming 2 times a week. Strength train for at least 45 minutes 3 times a week.

Personal Information:
I'm from Virginia, and have been happily married for 42 years. I have 2 daughters, 37 and 21. a "son-in-love," 15 year old grandson, and a 2 year old granddaughter.
