The past year brought a LOT of changes & challenges - I became a grandmother, tore my rotator cuff, moved from Washington, DC to Las Cruces, NM (even farther away from family & friends back in the midwest!!), recently got diagnosed with a low functioning thyroid & lost my wonderful cat Spunky after almost 20 years I'm adjusting to all the transitions & sure appreciate Sparkpeople - along with my faith & family!!

I love & teach yoga, also run & do strength training. I'm a quilter & have recently started working on some scrapbooking - I sure have a lot of photos to go through!!

I got married to my best friend in July 2011 & am thankful every day to be able to share life, love, faith & laughter together. We love football, date nights, traveling & just spending time together.

Here is a verse that means a lot to me right now with all the changes 2013 brought:
This is what the Lord says— he who made a way through the sea, a path through the mighty waters, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Isaiah 43:16

My Goals:
Updated Goals 2/1/2014:
Short Term:
1) Run a 5K -completed 1/26/14
2) Continue practicing to learn headstand, arm balances
3) Lose 5lb by spring
Long Term:
1) Participate in the Bataan March run
2) Learn how to teach more off the mat & do more adjustments for students
3) Submit a pattern idea to APQ
4) Write a blog weekly

My Program:
1) Exercise at least 30 min. 6 days/week
2) Use nutrition tracker at least M-F
3) Drink 8-10 glasses of water a day - including hot lemon water in the morning
4) Focus on my faith & others instead of myself

  • v SEAGLASS1215 asked about's kind of a Paleo way of eating that you commit to for 30 days...lots of things you cannot have, such as grains and dairy...I'm not sure I will be able to give up cream in my coffee!...but it's really a good way to get rid off all the bad things we are eating now (processed junk in my case) that cause lots of problems and symptoms, not just weight gain. I've been trying to go all day eating this way (except for the 1/2 and 1/2 in the coffee) but I had a bad moment and sugar binge last night. But overall, it was a lot less processed junk throughout the day and it wasn't too hard it a shot!
