More on getting your FIRE back..he, he my other comment was too long for the box!!
Last year when I was moving and had all kinds of stuff going on I took on a crazy job with a client that would call me at all hours of the night and it was high drama...so I wanted to just focus on the contract and maintain what I'd lost so far vs. the "extra" effort of losing...this was a mistake...I learned that weight maintenance takes the exact same amount of effort and hard work and continuing with a weight loss goal. I'm not kidding, the same amount of time just to keep it off as to keep losing. The difference is, of course where we are focused and when we don't ever see the scale go down (as in ever) it is that much harder to stay motivated to do even the work to maintain and be vigilant that the pounds don't creep back on.
I judge whether I've really been losing by looking at where I was a month ago vs. day-to-day or last week. For some reason this helps me be patient and stay the course when the scale hops up two pounds or stays the same for days even as I'm pushing harder and still eating well.
I still say, since you are busy that you need to keep exploring new things that are healthy for the "fun" element, but find one or two to really fall in love with. When I was in Minnesota, for me, that was hiking parks with waterfalls with my kids on the weekends...in Florida I'm still looking, but so far it's been night beach walking.
