Talk about a fortunate accident. While I was researching books on, many people commented on this website, so here I am!

I guess I should start my introduction off by sharing with you who I am ~ but I honestly don't know. I can tell you about my job, my kids, my fill-in-the-blanks _____. So I'll begin *me* as honestly as I can.

I'm Christelle and my life felt like it was ending four months ago. The stress of my job combined with lack of sleep for the past eleven years took its toll on my physcial and mental health. A sunami of depression and anxiety attacks almost wiped me out. It was make it or break it time. I'm currently on a medical leave.

The potential of Christelle is up to me. I refuse to live in the past, play the victim, not speak my mind, take care of everyone and everything else first. I have made myself my #1 priority. The only thing that matters is right here, right now. Living in the moment. Thankfully, I am married to a man who has stood by my side and has helped me become a believer ~ in me!

Update: 9/16/10

I've been going through a major depression where I actually lost 20 pounds ~ and not in a healthy way. I simply had no appetite for food or life. When I stumbled across SP, I did not realize that the *spark* was originally geared towards weight loss. However, I did find many teams to aid me in my journey of discovering myself and of being better to me - inside and out.

I'm not a healthy eater. I'm trying to make peace with food and become more aware of when/why I'm eating. The accountability factor - the daily logging of my food and fitness have been a major source of success! The mind, well - that's where my therapist comes in. One day at a time.

SP has helped educate me on so many levels! I'm constantly reading articles that interest & inspire me, taking poles, reading emails.

Most importantly ~ it's been the support from my new SP family who reach out that have truly made the biggest difference. I am humbled...

My depression has actually become my awakening!

Update 6/20/11
Got fired from my job a couple of months ago. Left SP and all that matters wallowing in my loss. Fell back into old habits that never worked. Lost control. Felt like I was falling into a black hole.

Occasionally I'd receive SP postings, but didn't feel worthy enough of the love and caring that was coming my way. I forgot how uplifting being connected to my virtual friends made me feel. I've been eating anything and everything I could put my hands on. Two months later and 15 pounds heavier I got hit by a lightning bolt. A handful of you reached out to me within a few days last week and the SP love light began to shine. Thanks to you, I am rekindling my spark. Thank you for not giving up on me by reminding me how precious living and feeling alive is!

I once was lot, but now I'm found. I'm baaaaack in the driver's seat of my life. Thanks to you!!!

...from the year from Hell. My 32 niece passed away from Pancreatic Cancer, what was thought to be a malignant tumor on my liver was thankfully biopsied and found NOT to be malignant, and both my daughter and husband lost their jobs. Thankfully, I found a work-from home position booking home inspections for a company in North Carolina - but we are now making one tenth of what my husband and I previously brought in. And yet, I wouldn't change a thing.

Life is what you make it. By accepting what is and finding the silver lining in every hurdle life has challenged me with this year, I am at a good place and making the best of what is. Unfortunately, it looks like we'll have to sell our house and move to an area that's not as expensive to live in - looking at South Carolina. Here's to new beginnings and being grateful for everything I have been blessed with! It really is ALL GOOD!!!

How nice to hear from you again!!!
Things are good here, lots of positive changes ... and in so many ways I feel that getting into this more positive space in my life has really helped with weight loss.
How are you doing? I read through your blogs quickly and saw you've had lots of changes as well. I hope everything is working out!

Thank you for the friend add-I did the same.
I am working on putting me on the top of the list instead of the bottom. Don't like where I am right now, I need to make changes.
I will let you know how the deskcycle works out.

A walk-cycle workout is my Spark Tracker not sure which I'm doing! It's usually because I have it on my wrist band, so the movement isn't always forward and back or side-to-side. When I wear my boots to school, I put the Tracker on my wrist band instead of on the boots - because I always forget to change it to my shoes.

The Spark Tracker has 3 altimeters, so it detects forward, back, side-to-side, and in circles. Most pedometers only detect forward, back, and side-to-side. I can go in and change the workout so it records what I am actually doing.
What kind of tracker do you use?

A Glow Getter is getting 10,000+ steps on my Spark Activity Tracker. The tracker lights up when you hit 10,000 - thus Glow Getter.
