After a decade of weight gain, I'm focused on living a healthy life. 2013 was my rebound year. It took a few attempts to make progress, but I've lost 36 pounds and lost 6" from my waist. I slowly made diet and exercise changes. They added up to actual weight loss and health improvements. Its been a wonderful journey.

My goal for 2015 is to find peace with myself and others. Get to my goal weight. And learn to maintain and health weight for life.

I want to make a difference in this world. Give something that will help another being. Do something to make this world a better a place. Doesn't need to be newsworthy, but something meaningful. I'm searching for that something.

Losing weight is by far harder mentally than physically. Anyone can count calories and exercise and lose weight. The hard part is making the decision to do it everyday.

While I have both short term and long term goals, I'm taking this one day at a time.

2015 GOALS:

1. Lose 10 pounds by March 31st.
2. Lose 16 pounds by July 4th.
2. Lose 3" from my waist.
3. Increase activity & endurance levels.
4. Lower my BMI 2 more points.
5. Drop 1 clothing size.
6. Figure out how to maintain weight loss.


- Lost 14 pounds
- Added new types of exercise
- Lost 4" from waist
- Lost 32" overall from body.
- Started going to therapy
- Started meditating

- Got focused and made healthy changes.

My name is Catrina. I live in the South Bay area of Los Angeles.

I'm going through a divorce. Husband had a 6 year affair that produced a child. He hid this from me for many years. I'm adjusting to a new life now.

My Sheepdog keeps me active by taking walks and hikes.

I have 17 nieces & nephews.

Work part-time for a non-profit organization.

Other Information:
I enjoy crafting, cooking, reading, tv programs, music, visiting with people, and decorating for various holidays.

    I like that housework challenge but I couldn't possibly join the team, because I hardly drink soda!
    In summer I use a soda stream to make fizzy drinks, plain soda or sometimes I add stevia and vanilla essence to the soda, that tastes just like creaming soda, yum! And no artificial flavoring (pure vanilla essence)and no calories.

    I think if you are getting headaches from it you will be missing the caffeine? Why not just take pain killers and tough it out?

    Big congratulations on the work on the wardrobe, sounds like you have a whole lot of clothes! I still have more than I need but I am working my way through... We'll get there in the end!

    The team that has the housework challenge is: Break the Soda Habit. I'm down to one soda per day now. Going to start skipping a few days a week and see how that works out. Its hard because I start to get headaches...
