I'm a 43-year-old woman with a lot of weight to lose! (If, by "a lot," I mean 160 pounds.) My story's pretty much the same as most of yours--have spent years of trying to lose, gaining it back plus, trying again, round and round she goes, and where she stops--well, hopefully it's here. Stay tuned!

My Goals:
I''ve finally moved on to Phase 2 of the SP plan. My biggest struggle right now is trying to control the amount of sodium in my diet. I''m working very hard to get that down under 2400 mg per day. I have decided that if I want to reach my goal of weighing 150 and being in shape by 1/19/08, I need to do everything I can to follow the healthy guidelines laid out by SP. I would like this to become a way of life for me--healthy eating, healthy activity; I could be in better condition than I''ve ever been at any time in my life!

My Program:
I am religiously following the SP eating plan. Aside from the sodium, it''s not too hard (just have to fight off those occasional calls from old friends--you know, Pizza Hut, McDonald''s, Taco Bell . . .). I''m also adding in exercise; I have a membership to Curves that has been just sitting there since last summer, doing nothing for me, so I decided it''s high time I get my money''s worth out of it. So now it''s every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, off to work out! Plus I try to make sure I''m moderately active during the rest of my life, not just sitting around storing up calories (which apparently I''m pretty profiecient at!).

Personal Information:

Other Information:
I live in the Twin Cities of Minnesota, where I''m a professional musician. I perform on a professional level as well as work at high schools with choral, band and orchestral students. In my spare time, I enjoy needlecrafts like crochet, counted crosstitch, embroidery and quilting (though I''m notorious for starting projects and never finishing most of them!). I also enjoy reading books (especially Christian fiction) and looking for antiques (personally, I collect Blue Bubble Depression Glass, old bottles, and--my favorite--cookbooks and other books relating to housekeeping and etiquette from times gone by; then, of course, I also keep my eyes peeled for any pink Depression glass to add my mom''s collection).

Sorry I haven't kept my promise to Sparkmail you if I didn't hear from you for a while. I hope all has gone well through the summer and that you have found fullfilling work. I would still love to find out how things are going so Sparkmail me or come to my page and leave a comment. "Curves ladies" was closed down so we need a new thread or team. Paula
