Nothing crazy! It is about weight & support. Sometimes for the Interteam challenge there may be the option of doing different exercises, but you don't have to participate in that one. Here's the explanation from the page:
This challenge is designed to bring together a group of 25 individuals to help support each other for 10 weeks of healthy choices (and hopefully a little fun along the way).
So how does it work?
First, please introduce yourself to your teammates in the INTRODUCTIONS PLEASE Thread.
Second, take a sec to go to the "Weekly Weigh In" Thread in the WEEKLY REPORTING FORUM. I have listed all the information you will need to report your weekly activities. I will need your starting weight by Thursday, March 10. Each Thursday, you will weigh in and report your weekly cardio minutes, strength minutes, and ITC (Inter-Team Challenge) involvement.
There will be a different ITC for each week. The ITC list can be found in the "ITC Challenge" thread in this forum.
Usually on Monday following the weigh-in, I will post all the teams' weekly results in the "Weekly Results" thread so we can see how Silver Stars is stacking up to the competition.
Essentially, that's it! Except, of course for all the inspiration and fun. Please feel free to post in the General Team Discussion Forums anytime you feel so inclined. Also, if you ever have any questions, suggestions, comments, please let me know.
The Rules: Sadly, these are always here.
Please make sure to report each Thursday. Two consecutive no-reports will mean that your numbers will no longer count for the challenge.
If you know that you will be going out of town, PLEASE let me know ahead of time, so I can mark you as excused. Sadly, I cannot reinstate you after you have missed two weigh ins without first having been excused.
Please be respectful. I haven't seen many problems with this on sparkpeople but it always bears reminding.
That's it! If you still have questions, please post below in the "Questions" thread or you can always sparkmail me anytime! 3625 days ago
"Beautiful Woman Award! Once you've been given this award, you have to paste it on the wall of 8 women who deserve it. If you receive more than 3, you know you're really beautiful! If you break the chain, nothing will happen, but it's always good to know someone thinks you're beautiful inside and out"

Happy New Year!! I'm glad you're getting active with SparkPeople - it's a great community, wonderful resources and fantastic support.
In my experience, SparkPeople is like a in some ways - it's lots of fun and easy to make friends because we're all in this together. I like the way a HEALTHY LIFESTYLE is emphasized instead of a 'quick fix wonder diet' - it's about waaaaaay more than 'just' losing weight so you have definitely come to the right place!
If you ever need any help using features of the site, there are tutorial videos under the HELP section that can show you how to use the features of the site. You can also find them on the START page and several other places on the site.
If you haven't discovered The Spark book and/or the SparkDiet linked at the bottom of the START page, check them out - the program is simple but extremely effective. There is a TON of information on this site - so much it might even seem overwhelming but fortunately we don't have to 'digest' everything at once! The FastBreak program is a good way to start.
Another nice thing about SparkPeople is that we have permission to be human - we don't have to change everything at once or be in a hurry to reach our goals. Take a few baby steps and then a few more and before you know it, you'll have completed a long journey - I hope you enjoy this community as much as I do - it teaches us how to make positive lifetime changes because that's the only thing that will work over time!
