I've recently retired from 30 years in elementary education and am thoroughly soaking up every minute! I love finding and trying new healthy recipes, and love all the wonderful features that SparkPeople has to offer. It's such a positive environment and I've already met the most amazing, encouraging people.

Life is short, and these unprecedented times are all the more reason to lift each other up with encouragement and inspiration, maintain accountability, and stay focused on our goals.

I'm a Christian and have been married for 45 years to my awesome husband who is also retired. We have a son and daughter, and 3 grandchildren, and are fortunate enough to all live within 20-30 minutes of each other. I enjoy reading, walking, birdwatching, gardening, and anything nature related. We rescued a sweet little 1 year old dog recently (our first rescue) and she is a wonderful addition to our family.

My Goals:
S.M.A.R.T. Goals (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time Oriented)

1. Include more physical activity (30 minutes a day)
2. Drink more water (8 glasses minimum a day)
3. Track weight and stats, nutrition, and fitness in SP (daily)
4. Write blog or post in SP community feed regularly (daily)
5. Participate in SP Team activities (weekly)
6. Write in gratitude journal(personal) (weekly)
7. Read daily bible verse, self reflection, prayer (daily)
8. Read a book (one book a month)



My Program:
1) Drink a full glass of water when I first get up
2) 30 minutes of walking daily
3) Increase vegetable intake (SP Tracker)
4) Schedule time to achieve the above goals
