Welcome to my page. I originally joined SP to give me some extra motivation to train for my first 1/2 marathon in 2009 and lose some extra weight. ~Well I like it here on SP so much I've decided to stay :)
What race will I sign up for next?!?

I recently got engaged to my best friend and we are in the process of planning our wedding in May 2013! Everyone wants to look their best on their wedding day :)

A few quotes:

"I have Thunder Thighs. And that is a compliment because they are strong. And toned and muscular, and though they are unwelcome in the petite section, they are cheered on in marathons. Fifty years from now, I'll bounce a grandchild on my thunder thighs and then go for a run. Just do it." - Nike Ad

There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results. -Kenneth Blanchard

A couple of hundred years ago, Benjamin Franklin shared with the world the secret of his success. Never leave that till tomorrow, he said, which you can do today. This is the man who discovered electricity. You think more people would listen to what he had to say. I don't know why we put things off, but if I had to guess, I'd have to say it has a lot to do with fear. Fear of failure, fear of rejection, sometimes the fear is just of making a decision, because what if you're wrong? What if you're making a mistake you can't undo? The early bird catches the worm. A stitch in time saves nine. He who hesitates is lost. We can't pretend we hadn't been told. We've all heard the proverbs, heard the philosophers, heard our grandparents warning us about wasted time, heard the damn poets urging us to seize the day. Still sometimes we have to see for ourselves. We have to make our own mistakes. We have to learn our own lessons. We have to sweep today's possibility under tomorrow's rug until we can't anymore. Until we finally understand for ourselves what Benjamin Franklin really meant. That knowing is better than wondering, that waking is better than sleeping, and even the biggest failure, even the worst, beat the hell out of never trying. ~Grey's Anatomy

Thank you so much for the comments in my blog and sparkpage. I love that I inspire you to get to 15 miles, you can totally do it! You inspire me so much to run speedier! I hope one day to see a 2:05 half marathon time! I look forward to reading more about your Nashville country music half training, I've always thought that looked like a fun race! :)

thank you so much for the comment on my blog! And happy running to you as well! I saw in your blog from today that you are starting training for the Pittsburgh Half!! :) Nice getting a TM run in today! It's Superbowl Sunday and I think it can be so easy to just let today be a nutritional and exercise waste, in favor or queso and beer lol. Nice that you got some physical activity in and can now enjoy the day. I did the same thing....first thing this a.m., strength training. :)
