tired of diets that don't work, tired of constantly being on a roller-coaster diet and tired of not having time for proper diet and exercise? I am retired now and some days I just don't have the motivation I need to go to the treadmill or to work out on the stationary bicycle. somedays I just watch the "turbo Jam" video and do those exercises. somedays, like today, I work out with the body ball and my hand weights. I'm looking forward to getting the exercise video for beginning zumba from my dear friend, and get back into that. I really did enjoy the zumba when I was able to get to Curves. all of the Curves have closed that were near me, so I no longer have that option. but I'm slowly getting back into it, since I have put on weight since my retirement. I have purchased the zumba tapes so I can do it at home, as well as the "CIZE" tapes from Shaun T. well worth the investment, even though the going is slow, due to my work schedule. But got to get back to the exercise. Keep it up, and NEVER give up on YOU.

My Goals:
I would like to lose about 30 -35 pounds, and maintain my lower blood pressure and cholesterol

My Program:
currently, drinking Shakeology and doing Beachbody workout. my current workout is Turbo Jam. as of November 29, 2015 Currently walking 3.8 miles 3 times per week when not at work. at work, constantly walking up and down stairs, doing zumba at home. completed my first 5K in May of this year in 51 minutes. goal was 45 but the last mile was a killer, because it was uphill. Just thankful to make it over the finish line. have lost 14 pounds since March.

Personal Information:
have lost around 15 pounds, thanks to the great walking group "Run for God." joined this group in 2015, and ran my first 5K in May, 2015. continuing to walk with one of my partners in the group, as well as walking continuously at work, up and down stairs several times a day. Have also purchased the "CIZE" videos by Shaun T, and have begun working with that. slow, but fun.

    Oh, yeah, I forgot to add that I went for my 6 month physical 2 weeks ago and my blood pressure was great, my cholesterol was 175, my thyroid check was great, and all is well. God is good--all the time. emoticon

    well, a lot of good things have happened since my last post in December. Thank God, I went through therapy with my arm and was discharged in February, and the doctor was very pleased with how well I can move the arm. Still have a few limitations, but for the most part, it is almost at 100%, which they didn't think would be possible. But I was determined with God's help that I would use the arm again. So thank all of you for the prayers that were lifted up in my behalf. Our God still answers prayers. I began a Run4God program in February, and completed my very first 5K in May with a finish time of 51 minutes. the first 2 miles were 15 minutes each, but that last mile was a doozy, and it slowed me down. but I was thankful that I made it across the finish line. I still try to walk about 3 times each week, doing 3.8 miles each time, which is over a 5K, so I'm very thankful for that. I am doing some volunteer work for one of the hospitals close by, and enjoying meeting new people and having the opportunity to get out and do something and meet new people. Slowly but surely losing some weight, so that's a good thing. Trying to continue to encourage others on this journey. It is never easy to take on a task that you're unsure of, whether it be weight loss or running a 5K, but with God's help, we CAN do it. Hope everyone is well, and continuing in your journey.     it has been a difficult journey this last part of the year. broke arm in September, surgery in October, and have just begun therapy. so I have not been able to do the things I would like to do. Have begun walking again, although taking that first step was frightful, especially after the fall that caused my broke arm. But slowly and surely, I am getting into a routine. Have to be careful with the exercises, though. don't want to interfere with the therapy. was doing pretty well on my own without therapy, but doctor insisted. Hopefully, I will be discharged from the surgeon when I go back in January. Not giving up-just having to take a break for awhile. emoticon emoticon
