    Thank you so much for your comment and support. Tracking has done wonders for me especially with pics since pics seem to tell us the things we don't want to hear, but they keep me accountable! I would definitely recommend it! BTW I love your page..and congrats on the spin class---I'm still intimidated to try one, but it's in my future plans!

    I wasn't very methodical about how I trained for the tri. I started running in June 2011 and did 5Ks. I sign up for a 5K each month so I keep getting out there running. My husband and I go on a bike ride (20 miles) each Sunday, so I do that and occasionally I sneak in another bike ride. The big thing for me is swimming. My husband signed me up for intermediate swim lessons last January as cross training for running. I grew up swimming and have good form, but 30 years away from the pool = no endurance. So the swim lessons were good. It was around that time that I committed to do a tri. Swimming in open water freaked me out and the group swim lessons weren't cutting it for me. So I started paying for private coaching/lessons at the Y. Best money I ever spent on fitness. My instructor listened to what I wanted (to not drown in open water and to finish the 1/2 mile swim - looking good while doing it was optional.) She taught me survival techniques. She taught me better form so I was more efficient. She drilled, drilled, drilled to build up my strength and endurance. Along the way I'd do doubles - swim then run, but more often bike and then run - so I'd get the feel for it. I did one mock tri on my own this summer just to see if I could survive and I did. That is how I trained. Not very scientific or well thought out.

    You should definitely do one. It's lots of fun and a real challenge. The Danskin tris are very women friendly and I recommend it.

    I'm doing pretty well! trying to get back into the swing on things and take things day by day. I am really focusing on not beating myself up so much! Right now I am trying to cut out all fast food. One step at a time! How are you? Whats new?
