2013 I want to get past time and financial constraints that have de-motivated serious progress to improve my health.

5/4/18 UPDATE: Oh where has the time gone!? To so many necessary duties, joys, and - yes - some sorrows. Still working on activity levels. I've had a detour from walking regularly, but I'm working on Chi Walking in hopes of resolving some painful plantar fasciitis.

My Goals:
I'd like to make changes that last.

I need to find workable foods that fit in with my family's food allergy needs.

My Program:
I have worked on Chi Walking for almost a year and will continue to do so. I also use a stationary bike. Unless my feet improve, running may not be an option.

I would like to hike some local Rails-to-Trails at least one way this summer.

My nutrition goals are to consistently lower my carb intake while increasing all things leafy and green. To that effect we have planted several herb and sald gardens.

I will aim to check into my sparkpage once a week.

4/17/14 - I am working on strength training, specifically The PACE workouts promoted by Al Sears, MD. I've also enjoyed using exercise balls along with my son. I would like to learn "chi running" so I can run without joint issues.

Personal Information:
I am from the beautiful hills of western PA where deer are abundant but jobs not so much. My husband and I are completing our 27th year of marriage. We have two children: one recently graduated from college and one about to begin college, and we also care for my intellectually disabled brother. My paid work is in musicperformance and education.

Other Information:
We deal with multiple food allergies. As a result, my children are almost self-sufficient cooks now.

I enjoy reading - especially biographies, art, music, gardening, and too many other things to list. Best of all I like connecting with friends and family.
