Hi Welcome to Spark People. I hope you succeed. I also had sleep problems and found I have sleep apnea , caused by my weight. I just couldn't get a good nights sleep. Now nearly fifty pounds lighter I sleep like a baby and feel so much better. I hope you find your answer. Being sleepy makes you crave sweet foods, your body thinks you need energy. You have lots of stresss in your life. Job stress with crazy hours means that your off-time needs to be planned in a way that you allow time to relax. Yes? You may find that a gentle form of exercise is helpful toward that end even as it improves fitness: long walks with upbeat music playing on a CD or MP3 (or some other advanced technology thingee!), yoga, stretching, dancing in the living room, tai chi,.... just to name a few.
DO work through the SP diet stages. They make a difference. As we advance in age, losing weight and girth is harder. Don't expect the same results as you'd have if you were 25 years old. Slower is healthier anyway.
