So I have had a relapse and I have talked myself and my family into joining me on Spark People. I did this 2 years ago and lost over 80 lbs, I was looking great and feeling better. I don't know what happened but I fell off the wagon. My son that was deployed came home, he was surprised by my weight loss. I am not quite at my start weight from before but closer than I would like to be. I am leaving my Introduction from before because I want people to see that you can make mistakes love yourself, not be ashamed of who you are and just get back up, dust yourself off and start over. __________________________________________
I am a working wife and mom. I have always put my job and family first. I saw a picture of myself at Disneyland exhausted and sleeping. I couldn't believe that was really me. I didn't realize I had gotten so out of control. My weight had climbed close to 290. It just seemed that with each year I had put on another 20-30 pounds. I used my age, my work and my health as an excuse. My husband hadn't said anything, he loves me regardless, but I felt horrible and out of shape. I started loosing weight in June of 2007 and I have lost about 75 pounds so far, with about 40 more to go. I realize that I can't do this for anyone but myself and that I need to find and "cure" what caused my to gain weight to begin with. I am still trying to cure my need to be and feel loved. I realize I need to love myself. I surprised my son while he was deployed, with my weight loss. He is my inspiration. He has battled cancer(read my blogs) and has not let that bring him down. He joined the USMC because he felt that he needed to support his country, that it was his responsibility. He has been a giant motivation for me. If he can do what he does for me and all of us, then I can take off a pesky 120 pounds! My husband and all of my kids have been supportive in this.

My diet plan is as such, I initially started with South Beach but came to the realization that I need to eat healthy but normally. I count calories and stay within the spark guidelines of percentages of fats, carbs and proteins. I am a firm believer in strength training. It is your friend. I do cardio at least 3 times weekly and strength at least 5 days weekly. I go to the gym and also use tapes at home.

I love getting spark mail! It always amazes me to hear others stories. God Bless and 2009 is our year to shine!
