My name is Rebecca, and I know better.

I have always been against dieting, since I have seen so many people ruin their metabolism through it. I have always believed that if a person eats healthily and has an active lifestyle that they will be healthy and their body will be as it should be. Even the extra pounds that came on during my pregnancies didn't motivate me to diet, since I trusted that my body would go back to normal eventually so long as I kept active and healthy.

It's been 4 years since my second son was born, and I'm still carrying around a little more than I would like to. I hate to be motivated by other people's opinions of my body, and anytime someone would suggest I had a bit of a tummy it just made me more determined NOT to diet.

Recently I noticed an old friend looked really healthy and thin, and when I commented on how good she looked, she mentioned SparkPeople. I came to look at the site and was impressed with what I saw. Suddenly I feel like I want to take a more active approach to shedding the unwanted weight I've carried around with me - and think this will help me with motivation and accountability!

I realized that all these years I've been "wishing" heartily that I was back to my skinnier version of myself. But wishing does NOTHING if you don't stop, commit, and make a plan. I should know - I teach this yearly to the students at the school my husband and I founded and run! I have suddenly realized I am not practicing what I preach. I know better than to wish and let it go.

So here I am - determined to make a change, and knowing that the power is in my hands.

My Goals:
I want to have a body that is strong, flexible, and fits into all the clothes I want to wear!

I want a stomach I don't have to suck in!

I want to eat healthy naturally, so that I can indulge in favourites that are not going to hurt me!

My Program:
My lifestyle is naturally active since we live without a vehicle. I am trying to increase the intensity of my "natural workouts" and add in some strength training at home.

Personal Information:
