Mindful meditation, such as on the things of God, actually calms your brain.

I enjoy doing things reliably, so that means I read the Daily Lectionary readings and we cook/bake mainly by thumb (hahaha). I love my wife and son, and greater family members. Please take a look at my SparkRecipes if you dare.

I appreciate constructive criticism, and have little tolerance for tyrants and bullies. Thankfully no one, not even God, requires me to deal with those types of folks. Living in the USA means I also have freedom of association. Woo Hoo!

My Goals:
My goal is to be at peace with others as much as it depends upon me, and faithful to my Master. I am dedicated lovingly to my wife and son as well. If I can keep loving them in ways they understand I'll be a successful man.

My Program:
I've tried the program. I'm disabled, my wife is disabled, we live in poverty. None of SparkPeople is designed for folks like us.

Personal Information:
I love to cook and bake, but I live for BBQ. Hahaha it ain't BBQ if it ain't smoked ;-)

I fingerpick guitar, since 1973 (hero:Chet Atkins, bb king). Play piano (fav: ragtime, Edvard Grieg). Blow coronet & trombone (fav: wynton marsalis, chuck mangione) and still enjoy Earth,Wind and Fire; Pink Floyd; Stevie Ray Vaughn -- incl' Mary had a little lamb.

Other Information:
I'm not who SparkPeople wants as someone who is a member. I don't do fake hype, I despise narcissism but especially when promoted as "healthy self-image". Pshaw. I don't quote atheists and others as if they are pious folks with wisdom from God's mouth to their ears. I don't understand "Christians" who do that either. If I can't respect the person, why would I rely on their "words of wisdom?" Que?
