Hello Sparkfriends!

Since joining Sparkpeople I have made a complete change in the way I live.

I am now aware of what it takes to stay fit and healthy. I use to eat whatever I wanted and not be concerned about what it might be doing to my health. As a result I had high blood pressure and cholesterol and weighed more than the Dr. said I should.

I have changed the way I eat and exercise and after being on blood pressure medicine for 7 years was taken off of it in 2014.
I have been able to keep it at a normal level through diet and exercise. I have brought my cholesterol down 36 points also. I don't think I would have been able to do it without the help of Sparkpeople. This site is full of so much information to help you be the best you can be.

I am not perfect and sway away from the program from time to time but my Sparkfriends are always there to get me back on track. Sparkfriends are very special to me! Thank you all for the support.

If you are just starting on your journey with Spark hang in there you will gain knowledge and friends that will stay with you through your ups and downs.

Fitness Minutes: 62,602

My Goals:
To get healthy by eating right, exercising on a daily basis and losing weight along the way.
My short term goal is to get to 130 lbs.
My long term goals are to weigh 125 or less and not have to take BP medication
any more.

Goal met 11/7/14 No longer have to take BP medication.


My Program:
I try to exercise a min. of 30 mins. daily.
My favorite form of exercise is walking.
I have been making healthier food choices.

I love to be outdoors. Summer is my favorite season. I love to be by the water and go swimming. My favorite thing to do is go to the pool and swim and read a good book. Ah, how relaxing.
I'm 61 years old.
I have been married for 42 years and have 3 children and 8 grand children .

    emoticon Thanks for the update Terri, was a bit worried. Glad you are all well. we are all well too and are staying put. I don't feel comfortable going on any vacations yet. I know many are going, but I would not have any fun. We celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary a home. My flowers he gave me lasted almost 3 weeks. Picture in my pictures. It's ok I want to stay healthy and be able to freely travel.
    Wish I had some of those beans, we still are battling critters including Riley ruining out gardens. I do have a lot of tomatoes and can't wait for the butternut squash.
