So I'm back (for like the four millionth time) - but I cannot stop trying. And here I am. Working on some small behavioral changes.

I was doing well on my own at the start of the pandemic, but things sorta spiraled out of control over the summer and now i'm pretty much back to where I started.

But I don't want to be overweight for the rest of my life. If I don't make some changes, nothing will change.

ULTIMATE GOAL: Reach a healthy BMI
FIRST "BIG" GOAL: LOSE 56 LBS (179.5)
See below for small and medium-sized goals geared to get me to my *ultimate* goal.

JAN: -8 lbs (met my high target goal)
FEB: -5.2 lbs (met my low target goal)
MAR: -6.2 lbs (just above mid target goal!)
APR: -3.2 lbs (missed my low target goal)
MAY: -3.6 lbs (just missed my low target goal)

My Program:
I am working to learn my behavioral hangups that contribute to unhealthy eating habits. I used BistroMD the first quarter of 2021 and had great success, so have decided to extend it for another 3 months. It's a complete food/snack delivery service (with normal food). I know this isn't a long-term solution, but for now getting some of the excess weight off is my priority. Eventually I will have to learn how to do it on my own, likely with a transition period. But I can't argue with success.
1. Stick to BistroMD menu each week, for 12 weeks.
2. Record my weight every Saturday and Sunday morning.
3. Once each month, take photos and measurements, report photos monthly and measurements quarterly.
4. Blog weekly progress reports on Sunday.
5. Incorporate daily exercise.
6. Nutrition calorie goals: 40-45% protein, 30-35% carbohydrates and 20-25% healthy fats.

Personal Information:
I live in Tucson AZ, have one cat, and grow weird succulents. I love to hike, take pictures and dance. I'm learning Spanish and love to practice! I'm an inspiring writer. I also just got my real estate license for a side job. I'm a full time physician, but plan to do some real estate on the side for family and friends.

Other Information:
My SPARK is that I want be healthy and fit enough to return to the active lifestyle I used to have. I miss that part of life and the Me that thrived off being active.

Boy, you're so right about how important the "why" is and how important it is not to forget it. After decades of unsuccessful dieting, I realized in 2012 that I just felt OLD and asked myself if I felt like that then, how was I going to feel like when I was finally able to retire? How enjoyable would retirement be if I was exhausted all the time and literally had to pull myself up the steps? So I found SP, lost 72 lbs and felt like a million bucks! That lasted for a long time because the weight came back slowly, and I lost sight of the why along the way.

Well, I feel OLD again, so I'm committed to losing the weight again. This time I need to keep the why firmly in sight because I'm a decade older physically, and I don't need any extra help feeling it. emoticon

Thank you for the update, my dear. I haven't had a chance to comment on your blog (it's bedtime here). but when I saw the title with the word "bye" in it, I thought you were talking about the changes in SP. Even the site in the US will change significantly, according to what I've heard and read. Darn it. I was really enjoying my regular contact with you and admiring your progress. I hope somehow we can keep it up, though it would have to be in a different venue, as I'm not a US resident any more.

I'm glad Sasha has handled the loss of her housemate Marley without too much trouble. She might even like getting all the attention now. Our girls are doing well. They are inseparable but I wouldn't say it's always a bed of roses. Leda (the mother) growls at her daughter Elenora sometimes, but Elenora seems really happy-go-lucky about it all, and in general they're relaxed and healthy, so we're all satisfied with the way things are. It's really fun taking care of them, though because of my knee surgery I'm letting Kana do most of the dog walks now.

Take care, my dear, and have a great week!

So glad you got some much-needed rain! Don't you just love the way rain smells when it first starts to come down on some dry land?

By the way, hope you're still enjoying all the beautiful succulents you posted as few years ago. I don't know much about those but I sure remember them being very colorful and exotic-looking.

Is Sasha doing okay without dear Marley?

Believe me, I understand that frustration. My scales been dancing up and down for two weeks now. Neither big gains nor big losses, but I sure wish it would make up its mind! emoticon
