Making permanent lifestyle changes.
I am looking for motivation and tips on making lifestyle changes once and for all. I look forward to meeting others who can share similar frustrations and celebrate victories, both small and large. Please feel free to send me messages and tips. I hope I can be a positive force for others as well.
I was diagnosed at age 14 with hypothyroidism so have always had metabolism issues related to that. I absolutely HAVE to exercise to 'trick' my metabolism.

My Goals:
Daily goals:
-8 cups of water
-8 hours of sleep
-less than 1500 calories
Weekly goal: 20 miles per week
Yearly goal:
1000 miles (walk, jog, elliptical, swim, etc)
Ultimate goal:
Get weight to a healthy range; become fit and healthy!
My Program:
EATING HEALTHY:
-packing my lunch and snacks each day
-planning meals
-closely watching portion sizes
Practicing self-discipline and awareness of what I am doing.
EXERCISE 3-5 TIMES PER WEEK: weight training, elliptical, bike, c25k program, treadmill, volleyball.
My yearly goal is to get in 1000 miles of exercise by elliptical, bike, walking, jogging, swimming, etc. Broken down it is about 20 miles per week so that is keeping my incentive going to try to get those miles in each week.
Personal Information:
I live in Kansas and grew up on a typical Kansas farm. I've been together with my "other half" for 20 years - we do plan on getting married one of these days! I've got 9 nieces and nephews (all adults now) and 15 great nieces and nephews all ages 12 and under. Gotta spoil 'em all! I work as a business manager at a major local hospital. I have 2 gym memberships plus a ton of home workout videos so I have NO EXCUSES not to get my exercise in on a regular basis.
We love to travel and spending time with friends. During the summer weekends we can be found at the lake with friends.
Other Information:
I have been taking thyroid medication since age 14 for hypothyroidism.
I absolutely LOVE the show The Biggest Loser. Those people definitely inspire me!
