"When you get the choice to sit it out or dance...
I hope you dance"

- Lee Ann Womack

"Yeah man...that's the good stuff"

- Kenny Chesney

I have always been overweight, but confident. Because I never struggled with self-esteem, I always told myself that I was just "me." With a family history of high blood pressure and diabetes, I finally realized I needed to make a change. I am getting married to my best friend this summer, and hope to begin a healthier life with my new hubby. We're in this together.

I'm ready for something different.

I want to get rid of the worries that come with being overweight, so that I can be the best ME possible.

I know I can do it!

This time, I'm in it to win it.

by Max Ehrmann

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.

As far as possible, without surrender,
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even to the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons;
they are vexatious to the spirit.

If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain or bitter,
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs,
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals,
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love,
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment,
it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be.
And whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life,
keep peace in your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

    If you had a friend who talked to you like you sometimes talk to yourself, would you continue to hang around with that person?-- Rob Bremer

    Thanks to the power of our inner critics, most of us have a very poor opinion of ourselves. Yet self-contempt merely keeps us miserable and stuck in our mediocrity.If we were to make only one change to transform the quality of our lives, we might try sending a little love our own way. Unkind criticism is never part of a meaningful critique of you. Its purpose is not to teach or to help, its purpose is to punish. We all deserve to be loved, start by loving yourself today.

    emoticon Hope you are progressing well. I'm sorry I haven't been able to send messages as often as I used to. It has been quite challenging to get to a computer in between everything, but just know that I am always available and you are in my thoughts. I LOVE this team emoticon . To me, it really is more of a family.

    Everything you need you already have. You are complete right now, you are a whole, total person, not an apprentice person on the way to someplace else.-- Wayne Dyer

    Close your eyes and imagine that everything you have and everything you are is enough. You don’t need to be better or different -- you’re great just as you are. Can you experience the peace and contentment that owning that perspective brings?

    Moving into such total acceptance does not mean that we stop growing. It means that we accept who we are and do not criticize and put ourselves down. We can make outwardly changes towards our goals, as we love ourselves on the inside. Eating right, exercising and making healthy lifestyle changes is your way of loving yourself and your body.

    When we can accept who we are now, we open the doors to our own inspiration to do and be even more!

    Have a SPARKtastic day and week.

    "When you arrive at your future, will you blame your past?"

    -- Robert Half

    What holds you back from being and doing more? In your journal, list what you believe is holding you back.

    Have you blamed people or factors outside of yourself? It's important to understand that ALL problems are rooted inside us. Even the blocks that appear to be outside of us are only reflecting back an issue we have inside that we have not yet owned. Once we address our inner issue, the outer situation no longer troubles us.

    The buck always stops with us. We step into our power when we accept responsibility for our lives.

    Roger Dawon once said - The most self-destructive thought that any person can have is thinking that he or she is not in total control of his or her life. That's when, ‘Why me?’ becomes a theme song.

    Today make the choice to Seek the inner cause of problems

    Have a great day!

    emoticon . Hope you had a great weekend.

    United We Shed - The Weight Motivational Message:

    The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn.-- Alvin Toffler

    How willing are you to learn something new? How open are you to new perspectives?

    Only when we're open can we really hear what's being said or really see what's happening or really experience the moment.

    Openness demands that we be willing to move to places we've never been before. It asks us to continually challenge the foundations of our belief systems so we can test out new ideas. And to do that, we need to accept insecurity.

    Make this week all about committing to the changes you want to see and learning new things.

    Have a great week

    Hi there. Hopefully you have some fun plans for the weekend and they include a workout or two.

    United We Shed - The Weight Motivational Message:

    Time is life. It is irreversible and irreplaceable. To waste your time is to waste your life, but to master your time is to master your life and make the most of it.-- Alan Lakein

    Refuse to feel USED by life! Make full use of it instead.

    To do this, we initially need to take control of the time of our lives. Time management is life management, from the inside out. It’s an INSIDE job. You already have everything you need. You have the power to create a life of meaning, fulfillment and joy.

    Your challenge is to find what works for you! Review the literature but make your own decisions. To do this, you’ll need to:

    1. Get to know yourself -- your desires and passions, rhythms, styles, challenges, needs and habits.

    2. Be aware that you always have choice. Claim your independence and power to choose what is right for your life, moment by moment.

    Until you value yourself, you will not value your time. Until you value your time, you will not do anything with it.-- M. Scott Peck

    Live Life Fully - It is too short and too precious to do otherwise.
