My initial visit to Spark in 2007 helped my lose 30 (from 135 to 105) lbs and gave me courage to do things I had never imagined doing, like running a 5K. I had planned to go back to school until a forced move set us back. 10 years late I am back to find my courage....
-Courage to complete my goals no matter how big or small
-Courage to set a good example for my kids
-Courage to save my health
-Courage to dust myself off and continue after failure
-Courage to NEVER GIVE UP
I am back now after some major adjustments in my life. After 17 years at one job I have a new one. I will tell you...its more than a job. It provides me with freedom. Freedom to move about, freedom from isolation, freedom to be myself.
I am now mother to 2 teenagers and a Jackweenie. Wife of 18 years.
Before I left Spark in 2015 I was on a long list of medications including anit-depressants and migraine treatments. I was over 180 lbs(yes...terrible weight gain)I was dealing with pain from carpel tunnel syndrome and bulging disk in my neck.
I slept every opportunity that I could.
The depression was eating away at my soul
I am now down to 160 and only on 2 daily meds and 2 migraine meds as needed. I removed myself from anti-depressants so I am no longer prisoner to those.
My carpal tunnel and bulging disc pain is gone.
Things are looking up! Now the weight has to come down!!!

My Goals:
I need to drop at least 40 lbs. My husband, father, and uncle all have diabetes. That's not happening to me. No only is the disease dangerous, but I am EXTREMELY PHOBIC of blood drawing. I bypass bloodwork at checkups. I only allowed it when I was pregnant with my children.
Gaining strong (not bulky) muscle is very important. I love being a strong little woman. When we made our move 9 years ago my husband and I moved almost all of our belongings out together without help of movers. 4'11 and kicking butt!!!
My Program:
My eating habits have been pretty bad. I've been chomping down on pretty much anything I'm in the mood for. Little Debbie and Frito Lay had been good 'friends' ...talk about a TOXIC RELATIONSHIP!!!
I plan to cut those guys out,as well as the sweetened drinks...I LOVE SWEET TEA.
Parking in the back of parking lots to gain extra steps, walking the dog 15 minutes longer each day, staying away from my chair at work as much as possible.
Im taking REALLY slow steps to ensure that I don't set my self up to fail.

I love these words by Winston Churchill and hope to live by them: Never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never-in nothing, great or small, large or petty—never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense.

You can't put links in blogs on sparkpeople. You have to copy and past the link into your browser. or highlight it, right click on the link, and select open link in new tab. I tried it 3 times and it works.
