I am a 59 year RN married to best friend these past 40 years. We have 3 fabulous grown children and I want to keep staying healthy to someday see grandchildren. I have been diagnosed with DM for a little over a year and am now off all meds, controlling it with diet, exercise and weight loss and determined to stay that way. I credit SparkPeople and all the wonderful people and friends on this site who have shared their knowledge, advice and support. It will always be a journey but oh, what fabulous people I have met along the way!!! Chaucer, move over!!!

My Goals:
I have pretty much reached my goals of losing weight (90 pounds) and getting off my DM meds so now I have to keep working hard to stay that way. Feeling as good as I do, I now wonder why I didn't do this years ago. But then I wouldn't have met all the wonderful people here on SP.

My Program:
I try to be consistent with my diet and exercise to maintain my weight and keep my BSs under a tight control.

Personal Information:
I live outside Philadelphia PA near the Delaware state line (tax free shopping!) I work as a legal nurse consultant and in my spare time I like to read, crochet, walk and love spending time with my husband, children and friends. I have three grown children, Ashley 28 married and a dentist, Hayley 24 in grad school for an MFA and Alex 21 who lives with hubby and me and works is an autobody repairer. We have two rescue dogs, Indy and Menlo.

Other Information:
My favorite poem is "The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost. My philosophy of life is the Golden Rule (Treat others as you would wish to be treated) and I try everyday to live by it. I love life and am very happy!!

Thursday: Quiet day. Stove repaired and it was a simple fix. The electronic started had to be replaced. Now have a working stove!

Cold yesterday, snow. Today . . . supposed to get up to 50. Crazy weather!

Have to get a few groceries today and that’s the biggest thing on the agenda.

SIL got a call from the Dr. that her biopsy was benign. Hallelujah! BREATHING.

    Wishing you a wonderful Thursday!

Wednesday: Well, Miss Lilly got her grooming. And the groomer survived. LOL Actually she’s pretty cooperative for the groomer. That’s a good thing.

Today the stove repair tech comes. Don’t think it’s anything major. We shall see.

Hard to believe it’s mid-week. Time flies.

Cold weather again today. Mixed precipitation – snow sticking to the grass. Oh well, it’s spring.

Tuesday; Sheesh! Lots of phone calls yesterday.

Had to have a repair man out to re-attach our downspout to the building. The strap holding it in place was gone. He came by around 3 pm. So, that was good.

Have a grooming appt. for Miss Lilly this afternoon. PHEW.

The electric started on one burner of my gas sove isn’t firing properly. Have a repair tech coming on Wednesday.

Got PT/OT requests in w/the primary care Dr. He’s going to call back when it’s arranged (actually a continuation).

Tried to set up the 6 mth. appointment for Jas’ check up @ Mayo. Have to call back in July to do that. So have that on the calendar.

Sister-in-law had a breast biopsy yesterday . **SIGH** Now the wait. Prayers.

    That was my day yesterday!

Monday: Well a restful, fun Sunday! WE did meet w/our friends @ the diner and it was FABULOUS! Looking forward to more normal times. I SURE HOPE SO! The owners are just so special! They treated Jason to a breakfast! And it was delicious. The Works Skillet. OMG. Bacon, ham, peppers, onions, asparagus, carrots, peas, shredded cheese and tomatoes all on baby red roasted potatoes with corn bread (OMG, GOOD!) Just lovely.

Well, calls to make today. I can handle that.

    Have a marvelous Monday.
