I started SP right after turning 30. Amazing.

I'm now 33.

On approximately February 16, 2012, I joined SP and started out gangbusters. I quickly realized that motivation came and went and I definitely focused well on occasion and really not at all well on occasion. When I wasn't busy at work and could do meal planning was the best...but I was never comfortable focusing on personal stuff for long at work, even really important personal stuff.

I slowly and painfully lost 20 pounds. Then came the holidays. I lost my job, was at home and surrounded by chocolate and candy and stressed as all heck. I stopped running to a great extent.

Immediately after the holidays, I had a week cruise vacation that we had planned (and paid for) back in August. I took the stairs as much as possible, I actually made it to the gym two days, and did a significant amount of walking two days on land, and rode a horse, up to a canter, along a beach for an hour one day. I was sore!!

10 of the 20 pounds I had lost came back and established themselves on my ass. January 21, 2013, I came back here and started tracking my food again.

In May, 2013, I moved to Sacramento, and started a new job. In September, 2013, I got married, and in October we did a 2 week cruise in Europe for our honeymoon. I was down to 185 on my wedding day (despite the food, wine, champagne, and cake tastings!) I was 195 when we got back from our honeymoon despite hitting the gym a couple times and walking a lot. Unfortunately, I also tweaked my back so I wasn't able to run too much.

On April 10, 2014, my father in law passed away, and we've been in a fight with one of the other heirs of the estate since his funeral. It's been sad, and infuriating. When he passed away, my husband and I were on vacation, and I was down to 175.

I bounced back to 195 over the past year, and I've been trying to get back to 175...and lowed ever since.

Today, March 4, 2015, I am 189. My goal is 145. I will make it in 2015.

My Goals:
Goals:

Exercise 4-6 days/week.
Pack lunch every day.*
Walk 2 miles and climb 16 flights of stairs every week day.

Run 10ks and get back to under an hour. - MET!
4/22 - 1:06:53!
6/2 - 1:08:03 :-(
9/15 - 1:17:30 HILLS! (@218)
10/13 - 1:02:14!! @216
11/11 - 1:02:45 @220 argh!!
2/28/15 - 58:38

Run 1/2 marathons and get under two hours.
8/12 - 2:22:13 Quite a ways to go!
3/17 - 2:05:17 - Getting there!

Very limited alcohol. - MET!

Join a gym I enjoy: Had one, moved, still would like one.

My Program:
Medifast. Tracking everything, even when off plan.

Running and lifting.

Anything to rev my metabolism.

Personal Information:
I want to feel good in my own skin again. I used to be an athlete, I used to be able to run miles and miles and even a marathon once.

Then I went to law school.

I need to lose about 85 pounds. My original goal was 150, but I recently discovered that I have 125 pounds of bone, muscle, internal organs, etc...so 150 would be exactly at 20% body fat. I don't know if that'll happen. But I'll see when I get there!

Rewards:
I decided that having set rewards doesn't work for me. I need to reach the goal and then decide on a reward.
220 - Massage - DONE!
215 -
150 - !

Other Information:
From Twitter: "I'm going to lose this weight or I'll die not trying!"

"Everyone should be able to save their own life."

I feel that I am too fat to look professional. Whether or not that's true, I don't know. I don't think so. But it is very very hard to find attractive professional clothes at this weight. If I get back down to a size 12 or (dare to dream!) lower, I KNOW I will find cute clothes that allow me to be professional and attractive. Even if I do have shoulders like a linebacker (Thanks dad!).

I'm basically a 14 now, and I do feel MUCH better. I'd like to be a 12 or even an 8, but this truly is better!

Seen your comment on a message board and needed to drop by.

If you don't mind giving you a little piece of advice that has worked wonders for me and I think it is what has made everything stick this time.

Don't think of it as a diet, just think about it as making healthy choices 80% of the time. This is not about perfection but about progress. Take each meal and swap out one not so good for you option with a good for your option. Instead of mashed potatoes chose a baked potato with salsa. It is the little changes that bring the biggest results.

Its about finding what works for you and what you can stick with.

    Good Luck!
