Its been almost two years since I've "sparked" on a regular basis. I'm so relieved to be able to say I am back. November 2007 I got started in real estate...and jumped in hook,line and sinker in 2008 /2009 so much so that I got "Rookie of the Year" from my company. Wonderful, great, woohoo...but at what costs? I pretty much stopped exercising but being that most days I forgot to eat lunch it all balanced and my weight stayed pretty much the same. My energy level and happiness quotient however were at an all time low.

I've done a lot of reflection the past month or so and decided to change some very important things.

One--my health and happiness have to be foremost in my priorities.

I had a very emotional couple of weeks when we found out there is nothing medically we can do with my Dad's heart disease except medicinally--all coronary arteries are 95-100% blocked. There are strong genetics in play but I never saw my Dad exercise and "diet" was not part of his vocabulary. What is the point or benefit of being 85 if you are not healthy enough to do more than puzzles and computer games. I want to be a "fighting my age Granny,"not the one in a rocker!!

Second--I missed being a Nurse. I enjoy being a Realtor, despite the economic challenges. It is a real pleasure to be able to find someone a Home where they can build their dreams and memories. But I have come to realize that a very big part of my history is that of being a RN. So... I interviewed for a nursing position and hope to add that back into my life relatively soon.

Definitely more thoughts and ideas are tumbling in my head, and they will eventually be addressed but for now committing myself to a healthier life and to a slight career modification will be a good start.

Something that helps keep me motivated are "Podrunners"--podrunners are 'podcasts' made by DJSteveboy (www.djsteveboy.com), They are made for exercise at specific intensity, recorded at a steady beat per minute (bpm). They can be downloaded free (or by donation--highly suggest due to the number of downloads monthly) to ipod or mp3 format. If you need any suggestions let me know....140+bpm-about 4-4.2 mph,150+ around 5.0mph,ect.

"Constant awareness" of how easily it is to slip back into bad habits.

My Program:
Refocus on choosing wisely to avoid mindless eating and have optimum energy.

Trying to do something daily, whether running, walking, toning or just being active around the house--shoveling snow,stacking firewood, gardening,practicing my golf swing.......

Plan for 3 30 minute cardio sessions ans 2 ST 20 minute sessions with 2 stretching/yoga sessions. Plan into calendar as appointments.
