So far I've been on 15 Cruises - and number 16 should be in 2020! The Cruises I go on are chartered music cruises - and they are amazing! Seriously The Rock Boat (the last 8 I've been on) is a floating music festival that cannot be matched. Interested? Ask me about it. Cannot wait for TRBXX next year.

Here is my story, in a nutshell:

I'm tall - 6'0 and I've never in my life been a thin person. Although most of my weight was added post college. But I was just comfortable with my size and I was what I was and it did not phase me to buy larger and larger sizes. I had entertained the idea a few times about getting into shape but those ideas never lasted too long.

Then, in February of 2006, the Barenaked Ladies announced they were holding their first ever cruise in January 2007. O-M-G. I had to go! So I booked in March... but it wasn't until September when the light clicked on and I realized - I had 4 months until the cruise! eek! So I started on the elliptical and eating smarter and have not looked back. Granted it was NOT easy - I did not snap my fingers and see immediate results. Hardly! I set my initial goal to lose 10% of my weight by the cruise - to hit 190. And I did just that the week before the trip. Yeah! When I got back I decided to keep it going, I'd proved to myself I could make progress. And I did it, I lost another 20 pounds in time for cruise #2 (January 2008) and maintained a range of 170-175 leading up to cruise #3 (February 2009). I hovered between 175 and 185 for awhile and then some crazy hours at work and thrown in sinus infections and ear infections I was just put behind my track. Now I'm back over 200 and while I hide it well with my height I know it and am back working to get back on track in 2017.

What did I change?
--Went from no exercise to a regular routine.
--Drink far more water and be sure to add fruits to my snacks/meals.
--No more Coke - Since Mid-Nov 2006 I have not had a drop of caffeine (in liquid form). Now I strictly drink water and the occasional lemonade (well and an alcoholic beverage or two when the mood hits!)
--Watch my portions. I really have not changed what I eat dramatically - more the *how much* or *how often*.

So that's me, this isn't a diet this really has been a lifestyle change and SP has helped me do it in a way that I believe will make the change stick long term.

My Goals:
My original goal was 190 (10% weight loss) which I met right before cruise #1 (1/13/07). I set another goal of 175 which I met in the summer of 2007. Well 10 years later I'm trying to get back on track - not sure 175 will be the end result but I'd like to get back into the healthy range.

My Program:
I generally complete 5 nights of 30+ min of cardio/week and then 2 strength 30+ workouts.

I make sure to drink plenty of water and watch my portions.

Personal Information:
I live in the Metro Detroit area

Other Information:
I'm a music fan. I love going to concerts with friends. Live music helps my soul and I see 30-40 concerts a year.

I'm a sports nut - I love the NFL (Patriots), College Football (Michigan), NHL (Red Wings) and.... the list could go on ;)
