KEEPITUP4LIFE
Hi there Jocelyn, thank you for the friend add. Don't beat yourself over the weight gain. I can assure you bey taking the right steps, you will get back on track. When you lose the weight, one often says to themselves "now what?" I know I did (3 times) I ultimately gained weight back because I didn't know what to do to keep it off.
Well, my last time here at Spark I realized that it doesn't end when we reach our weight loss goal. We have to set NEW goals for ourselves. Goals that will keep us active, healthy, stimulated and happy about what we are doing to stay maintained. AS I neared my goal weigh t 2 years ago, I was almost in a panic until I realized that I needed to set new goals, with higher expectations for myself. I was already a great power walker and getting strength training in for an hour 4-5 times a week but I needed something else that would be fun and doable for a life time. I started running. I was never a runner in my younger years but I sure enjoy it in my 60's. I started a spark program Couch to 5K and before I knew it, running became easier and I love to challenge myself. My first race was a half marathon the following summer and I did great! I wasn't the fastest but I was a runner and I finished the race with a smile on my face. (my goal with crossing the finish line)
You don't have to become a runner but you do need to set new goals for yourself. The sky is the limit so what ever turns your crank, challenge yourself with it. When we challenge ourselves and win, we are inspired to keep it up..............thus my name KEEPITUP4LIFE was developed.
Hope to be able to follow your success with you along the healthy journey, Hugs Susan 1587 days ago
