Kathys Collies
I am an avid reader, a movie addict, who loves good music, sitting out on the deck with a book in hand / watching the furballs at play in the yard and spending time just enjoying the peace and quiet of 'alone' time.
I have 4 great (adult) kids, 4 grandkids, 4 beautiful Collies, and OOPS almost forgot.... 1 spouse.

I have 4 great (adult) kids, 4 grandkids, 4 beautiful Collies, and OOPS almost forgot.... 1 spouse.
After getting over an infection that almost cost me both lower legs in 2001 -2002 and the nearly 3 years of enforced bed rest that went with it, my older daughter dragged me kicking and screaming - well, maybe not screaming; I didn't have the breath to scream... - out to a weight watchers meeting where I was horrified to learn my actual weight . I lost 93 lbs while on their program, only re-gaining about 20 of it.
It's definitely a slow, laborious process, but one that I want to keep plugging away at inch by inch if I have to....
I've owned (or been owned by.....), bred / trained / shown Rough Collies for 26 years, but have pretty much decided I probably won't be doing any more breeding. We have titled / competed in a variety of events - Conformation, Obedience, Herding, Carting, Lure-Coursing, etc. BUT Obedience is my first love, and am just getting into Rally. I do all the doggy stuff with Meaganne, my youngest child.
June 2012
Well, decided that it is probably about time I update my information, since it's been nearly 3 years since I wrote my introduction....
I still have the same 4 offspring - couldn't sell nary a single one of them! LOL
I still have the same 4 grandkids - some are getting cuter, and some are hormonal teens now... so not quite so cute as the little ones.
Most importantly to me, though, was the miracle of our precious new granddaughter who arrived November 28 2011 - after nearly 10 years in the 'making'. Her story is in the blog I wrote on Dec. 01 /11. She is such a special gift of love for our family, and her Mommy - my oldest daughter.
I still have several of my beautiful Rough Collies, but had to let my very, very special boy, "Lucky" go to The Rainbow Bridge very unexpectedly in January 2009, so have nothing left of the bloodlines I spent nearly 30 years on. We still have 3 furballs , but they are all from another breeder.
And, oops almost forgot him again.... still have the same spouse - considerably greyer, slightly balder, somewhat rounder in the belly, and getting older by the minute.....

My Goals:
To get off the couch in front of the tv / out of the chair in front of the computer more often.
Try to actually get out for walks with the dogs instead of just thinking about doing it!
Getting my sugar and cholesterol levels down.
Remembering to eat more than once per day.
My Program:
I try to be sensible - doesn't always work well....
Weight Watchers worked well for me before, and I still have all their material, so that is what I'm trying to get back on the 'straight and narrow' with.
Personal Information:
I live in London, Ontario (Canada).
Three of my kidlets live in London - one is an Elementary School Teacher, one is a Manager for a large chain of better quality restaurants, and the youngest is an unemployed University graduate who is the only offspring still at home.
The 2nd youngest moved to the USA in 2006 to do his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at the University of Minnesota (Minneapolis), and now works as a Senior Research Engineer for a major International firm in Minneapolis / St. Paul, so we only see him just for a day or two at Christmas time. I surely wish it was more often!!
I love having the whole family together for a meal, especially at holiday times.
Both of my daughters and I are all a little Christmas obsessed so the boys tell us, but we don't think so!
Other Information:
I love the Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings series - both the book and the movies as well.
Diana Gabaldon, Iris Johansen, and Nora Roberts are 3 of my other favourite authors.
Love the BeeGees, Elton John, Celine Dion, Josh Groban and pretty much ANY Christmas music
