    I'm [was] a real shoe Queen [eat your heart out Imelda Marcos] but even I have never taken 9 pairs of shoes on holiday [plus matching handbags, flip flops,and slippers]. It was decades ago now but sticks in my mind because it was so extraordinary and I've never come across the like since.

    I don't know if a back brace would be good for your condition - presumably your Dr could advise you better. Heat definitely helps with pain relief. Have you tried hot water bottles? Or heat pads? Might be a way for you to find out if 'heat' works for you.

    The back brace I'm trying isn't rigid so shouldn't cause muscle degeneration due to over reliance though I'm still wary over using it. As I've said in my blogs, it takes a while to warm up so not sure if that would be useful to you if you're in so much pain you can't move that much anyway.

    I think your idea of walking round the block three times a week was a good one though I'd suggest five or ten minutes every day [whatever you can manage] could work. For me, setting a relatively low target that seemed hard at the time, appears to be working.
