"If you always do what you always did, you'll always get what you always got"

Over two years ago, I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Diabetes & cancer run in my family, so I need to do what I can to fight those diseases.
UPDATE (Aug 2011): About three years ago, I slowly started slipping off the wagon. I went from a somewhat healthy lifestyle that included regular exercise, food logs, etc. to an almost sedentary one where I ate whatever I wanted. Most times, until I felt sick or fell asleep and just felt uncomfortable most of the time. Then, on the morning of my 42nd birthday, I got yet another wakeup call. I had not tested my blood sugar in over a year, and my last A1C was great but this morning, my blood sugar was over 300! This was a first. My readings were never that high, even when I was first diagnosed with type 2. Panic set in, and I immediately stopped ignoring my health.
