Hi Everyone!! I am so incredibly happy to be here, ready and committed to change my life forever. I know that with the help of everyone and everything SparkPeople has to offer, that I, and everybody else here, will be able to achieve whatever goals they have set for themselves.
I am a firm believer that good things come in small packages, and, in this case, small steps. Actually, I believe the more-so correct term is "baby steps." The way I like to look at it is, that even if we aren't losing weight EACH and EVERY week that we wish we would, that we should NEVER scold ourselves for all the hard work we are putting in. Because there is NO WAY that eating healthy, exercising, and benefitting yourself and your well-being will EVER be a bad thing- even if we don't lose weight for MONTHS! If we keep working hard, following our program, reaching for those goals and those dreams, we will all get there someday. But that is the only way to ever get there- is to reach out and start that first step.
And that is what I have started- that first step. I have started that first step towards my goal weight, my goal future, my goal LIFE. There will be the ups, the downs, but hey- nobody ever said weight loss was an easy journey...
...If it was, we would ALL BE SKINNY!!!

(The pictures to the left, unfortunately I do not have any showing me at a lighter weight than 180 pounds. I have been as low as 160 pounds before but do not have pictures of myself to post of being that weight. (I remember feeling unhappy about my weight THEN- my god what I would do to have that old body back!! haha!) I intend on taking more photos of my body as it progresses through this journey- so stay tuned!!)

My Goals:
Things I want to accomplish Weight-wise in 2008:

- Exercise 5x a week minimum ( Cardio and strength training) Monday to Friday.
- Plan meals ahead and follow strict eating guidelines.
- Record/ log my daily exercise and food intake on Spark People.
- Keep track and work hard towards all goals- short AND long term.
- Never miss pilates class! (Mondays and Wednesdays!)
- Get in the habit of exercising in the morning.
- Make wise eating choices.
- Frequently weigh-in (once a week) and measure (once a month)
- Use spare time to exercise! And only "relax" at night time before bed.
- Make exercising fun! Find things you really enjoy to do!
- Always work hard and remember that you are working TOWARDS something, and the only way that you will get there is if you KEEP on working hard! Nobody said this journey was easy... if it was, we would all be skinny.
- Get down to 135-140 pounds
- Be fit and toned
- Gain much more flexibility

My Program:
-Drink 8 glasses of water a day
- No coffee (except special occaisions)
- No cheese (only fat free Kraft Singles)
- No butter/margarine (incl. cooking with)
- No bread/ bread products (only multigrain wraps)
- MODERATE/ OCCAISIONAL whole wheat pasta ONLY
- No eating after 6:30 pm
- Cut back on alcohol intake. Light drinks/ light versions of drinks SIPPED on while casual drinking.
Go a couple of weekends without drinking if doing a planned binge drinking session and plan your LIGHT drink for the night. Stick to that drink and do not mix anything else!!
Do not drink if there is no situation that calls for it.
- No big plates! Only little plates...
- Portion sizes the size of the palm only, unless vegetables and other greens. (In that case, more is fine)
- Eat only half of meal while eating out. Get the other 1/2 to go.
- Allow yourself 1 major "Cheat day" every month and mark down when you have it and eat well for the rest of the month.

Personal Information:
I am a very determined, positive young woman with alot of ambition to do great things for myself. I want to become the girl I've always dreamed of becoming, both appearance-wise and in many other ways. And I will work extremely hard to be there by the end of 2008!

YOU are beautiful! keep up the hard work... i read your page, and you're absolutely right when you stated that even if we're not losing weight every week, we can't forget to pride ourselves and keep goin with the exercise and healthy eating choices... gotta stay focused, no matter what!

    Hi there just dropping in to see how you are doing. By the looks of your weight ticker you are doing really well. Good for you. I am at a standstill this week I've only lost 1/2 lb and getting a little blah about it I guess I have to be more patient with myself. I am gratful I am losing and not gaining.     That is crazy!! Once you get the travel bug, it's hard to stop! There's a big world out there!! We are going to the Philippines next summer ('09), my husband, me and the girls. That should be really neat, too! We have a friend that has a house there, so we will be saving on lodging, as well. That's a big relief of the pocketbook!!

    We are planning on doing the bus tour, but we will be there for St. Patrick's Day, so we are planning to check out all the parades and festivities for that, too. I've heard all good things about the Guinness tour...we may have to make time for that!!

    I can't believe I'm leaving 2 weeks from Friday!!
