I am a 28 year old, ex-hot middle school teacher that is ready to finally lose the weight for good. I have fought my weight my whole life. I've never been one that was known to lose fights, except for this one. So now, it's my time time win.

I have had so many ups and downs in the last 10 years with my weight. I feel like I've tried everything that there is to try. I've done Slim-Fast (better named Slim-Slow-and-Hungry) Weight Watchers (I lost 50 lbs and gained almost all of it back over the course of the last 3 years...YIKES! Did I really gain 44 lbs in only 3 years? HOLY CRAP!) I've tried crash diets and starving myself. If it involved cabbage, cayenne pepper, all veggies, loads of bacon butter and name it...I've tried it.

I love exercise. I ran a marathon in 05' and even came in 3rd in my age division. In school I ran track and played softball. I was even part of the Women's Flat Track Roller Derby League in my city until I hurt my knee in 06'. Getting out and sweating has never been my problem. And I'm super competitive.

My problem is that I LOVE FOOD. I know a lot of people say this, but I really mean it. I can eat like a starving trucker on Thanksgiving day...everyday if given the chance. I always want to strangle the little stick-girls that I know that can nibble on a fresh greens and arugala salad and daintily exclaim, "I'm so full." I could eat my salad, theirs, hit the buffet twice, and still have room for desert.

I wish I knew that feeling of nibbling on my lean deck-of-cards-sized chicken breast and brown rice with no butter and sitting back contented. I wish I didn't cry when I'm on a diet and I see too many Arby's or Pizza Hut or Golden Corral ads on TV. (Mmmm...warm rolls) See what I mean?

I'm here because it is time to get serious and one of my best friends lost almost 40 lbs on this site and has kept it off for almost 2 years now, I think. (I'm not sure of her time frame exactly) She said it was fun and motivational. She described it like having a Weight Watchers support group at your fingertips 24 hours a day without ever having to drive to a meeting.

I fell off of the wagon for a while back in September...but I am back with a vengeance!
Look out skinny-town..HERE I COME!!

I'd still like to make some friends on the site to help keep me going. The ideas of someone counting on me for support and someone that I can count on would help a lot.

My Goals:
I want to look and feel better about myself.
I want the confidence I had in my early 20's.
I'd like to lose about 60 lbs.
I want to develop a healthy attitude towards food and eating. And not feel like I could knock 80 year old ladies down for a taco.
And I'm super motivated to move that dang turtle through the grass on my weight-loss-ticker!

My Program:
I am tracking my food each day on Spark. I plan the food I'm going to eat all day to stay within my calories.
I read once that Matthew McConaughey (sp?) said, "Do something at least once a day that makes you sweat." So I'm trying that.
I also ride my bike everywhere I used to drive. (Within reason) Save $ on gas, go green, and get skinny! Woo hoo!

Personal Information:
I was born in Roswell, NM. (Alien Town USA) And now live in Albuquerque, NM.
I teach 6th grade Lang. Arts and Social Studies and will be teaching a technology/Mac class this year as well.
I love my husband and my dog beyond all reason. (My family too.)
I'm a part time jeweler, that hasn't sold anything yet, but it will stuff is cute dang it!

Other Information:
I LOVE reading. In fact, my first bachelor's degree was in Literature.
My favorite book is Watership Down, by Richard Adams. I read it 2-3 times a year. Everyone who can read should read this book!
I love VH1 countdowns and 80's Kids Movies, Like "Labrynth" and the "Dark Crystal" and I HATE that the "emo" kids have stolen them from the real children of the 80's. Loser "emo" kids.
I'm a sucker for dogs and like my dog better than 90% of the people I've met. (He's nicer and smarter.)
I hate designer handbags and all they stand for.
My favorite smells are rain, old library books, and thrift store clothes.
I also, in a weired way, enjoy the smell of wet dog. Gross, I know, but there you go.

    Happy Birthday to You!!

Born today (Feb. 15), you have a high estimation of your own talents, but not without reason. You can do many things, and do them well, and you will jump at the chance to show off, especially when performing for a new or unusually appreciative audience. You tend to be something of a loner, however, and even when you are working with others, you are determined to do a thing your own way -- and anyone who might try to instruct you or criticize you is sure to be in for a fight.

You can be highly critical of others, but often it is the very thing you dislike most in yourself that you identify as a flaw in the person next to you. You are not always as realistic as you might be about your own weaknesses -- and yet you never let them stop you or hold you back.

Today’s Aquarius Horoscope: You'll want to be asking questions throughout much of the day, but be prepared to get the answers at a slower pace, and out of order.

    Hope your day is wonderful!
