HI! I am Kathy.
I have used Spark People off and on for several years. It helps keep me accountable and shows me where I have been and gives me guidance to where I am going to. I know I do much better when I use it. Denial is dangerous!
Over the last three years, I have developed several physical issues that have reduced my ability to walk, stand and exercise. I have also had several rounds of steroids and steroid injections. My weight drastically increased and that, of course, increased the physical problems. It is no longer just vanity that makes me want to lose weight. I need to lose weight to have a better quality of life.
I have battled with my weight and body image my entire life. I am ready to change both my body and my mind and live a healthy and happy life.

My Goals:
To get to my goal weight
To be physically fit
To be able to walk without pain
To no longer have diabetes & sleep apnea

My Program:
making better choices in nutrition. Eating for health and to stop the progression of diabetes!
I want to exercise everyday and manage stress better.

Personal Information:
I am 49, married with 2 young adult kids and a daughter in law & an almost son in law, 4 dogs, 3 cockatiels and 4 cats. I am now a "domestic engineer". I love the outdoors, reading, playing silly computer games, cooking and making things.

get rid of 10 lbs by 7/31/14 ---DONE! 5/12/14
Lose 20 lbs by 7/31/14 -Done!
To be in One-derland by 4/30/15

exercise daily 30 min
drink at least 9 waters per day
eat healthy food in correct portions
