I hurt myself in march 2013 either running further than I was quite ready to when deciding if I should aim for a half or full marathon or doing weighted squats. I hurt my hamstring where it inserts on my pelvis. I never got diagnostics done but did see a couple physios. The physio got me through 2 halfs on back to back weekends and the 100k Oxfam walk while it was injured. I took time off after that but that didn't help. Probably didn't help I did two tough mudders as I'd already paid for them. I was in a lot of pain in the second one in October.

After that I saw the physio for awhile but it took me awhile to actually do all the exercises and follow a slow rebuild of running. I started a few times but would push just a little too far. This time I started with 20seconds running 10 seconds walking and worked up from there. I did 7 miles yesterday :-) I probably should be doing more of my physio exercises still though!

My plan at this point is to do either a 15k trail race or 10k road race while on holiday at the start of November. If that goes well I'll be doing a half in Feb. That's assuming I can handle the 100F + heat we get here during the summer. Hopefully next year I can get more regular races in. Unfortunately I live in the middle of nowhere and am on call for work 24/7 so I'm not sure how many I'll get to do. I'm hoping when it cools off to start a running club here so maybe we can arrange more fun runs/races here.

Good luck getting started again! I find couch to 5k the best plan to get going without injury

Thanks for checking in! Yes! I am tracking with my hand written food journal I started on Oct 1 st. I still need more water and fruits and veggies, but working on it! It is important to get a handle on healthy eating as the holidays approach so I keep that in check!
Keep up your good work! We can do this...
