I am 45 y/o mother of two teenage boys. My husband works long hours and I am an elementary school teacher, so I know my biggest downfall in dieting is having the time to prepare healthy meals. We grab whatever is fast and convenient way too often. Although both of my boys are thin now - I am afraid our poor eating habits will trickle down to them and they, too, may eventually struggle with their weight like their father and me. (My weight has spiraled out of control over the past 5 yrs)
I hate what I see in the mirror and can't believe I have allowed myself to gain this much weight. I weigh more now than I did when I was 9 mos pregnant with both kids! I haven't had on a swimsuit in 2 years and want to be able to not look obscene in a swimsuit - I love to swim but won't because I feel humiliated by my weight. Although my husband doesn't complain and says he is happy with the way I look, I don't like what I see when I look in the mirror....and seeing myself in pictures is even worse! I am determined to not only get healthy, but to also get fit so I will be able to be more active with my teenage boys. Hopefully once I start losing weight, it will motivate my husband to lose weight too. I also want to "train" my children to make healthier food choices.
